Interior Designer - Soho Home Melrose

Description

The company is building a bespoke design consultation service at its new Los Angeles studio, and this role is central to launching it.

You will meet clients who book appointments and those who walk in, aiming to go beyond what they expected, and you will teach both clients and staff about the whole home collection.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and grow lasting relationships with current and new clients.
• Run consultations in the store and by video to pin down each client's design brief.
• Help consultants and walk-in clients who need design advice, including mood boards.
• Prepare tailored design presentations with CAD plans and mood boards.
• Advise clients who are designing their own homes with the company's products, offering expert guidance and a premium service.
• Manage every stage of the client journey, from first contact through delivery, orders and logistics.
• Carry the company's aesthetic and brand vision into every installation.
• Develop deep product and interior knowledge by immersing yourself in the brand.
• Help keep the store and studio looking visually strong and consistent.
• Support the retail manager in running staff training.
• Plan and host interior design workshops, talks and events with the events team.
• Take on other duties your supervisor or manager assigns.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience in a design firm.
• At least 2+ years of experience with a furniture retailer.
• A bachelor's degree (BA) in interior design.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills, with a natural eye for design and creativity.
• A genuine interest in people and in building relationships.
• A results-driven approach.
• Ability to grip, turn and hold objects with your hands.
• Ability to stay on your feet for at least 8 hours.
• Ability to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds.
• Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as the job requires.

Conditions

Based at the company's new studio in Los Angeles.

Weekend work is required.

Works with walk-in clients and with clients booked for virtual appointments.

Salary is $70,500 USD.

In line with California law, the salary range is shown for roles filled in California; ranges elsewhere may differ, and final pay depends on experience and other lawful factors.
