Integration Engineer 4 (SQL Server DBA)

The company is driving a major transformation, and this role puts you at the front of that work as an integration engineer focused on SQL Server database administration.

You will bring data and newer technologies together to shape how the company works.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go-to expert and advisor on database architecture, infrastructure design, security, and overall data management strategy.
• Create, document, and enforce database operations standards, change control rules, and process improvements for the DBA team.
• Take the lead on high-severity database incidents, architecture risks, and security vulnerabilities, driving quick fixes and root-cause analysis.
• Coach junior and mid-level DBAs to build their skills and keep learning.
• Make sure enterprise risk management, SOX, PCI, and change management requirements are followed closely.
• Tune and design large, mission-critical OLTP databases for high throughput and low latency.
• Build and maintain reliable high availability and disaster recovery setups using Always-On Availability Groups, replication, and continuous recovery methods.
• Plan and carry out large-scale patching, version upgrades, backups, restores, and decommissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 4 years of experience designing and maintaining cross-platform or cloud integrations.
• At least 3 years of experience automating system configuration or data workflows.
• Preferred: 6+ years of SQL Server administration, high-volume performance tuning, and database architecture experience.
• Preferred: 6+ years of configuring and maintaining SQL Server Always-On Availability Groups and transactional replication.
• Preferred: 6+ years of database security, audit readiness, and compliance experience with SOX and PCI frameworks.
• Preferred: 6+ years of experience with enterprise monitoring, alerting, and automated database management platforms.
• Preferred: 1+ years of experience in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Conditions

This is a hybrid role, so you must follow the company's hybrid policy on required on-site presence at your assigned office.

Full-time base salary is $149,800 to $171,000 in Chicago, IL and in Riverwoods, IL for this role. Part-time pay is prorated to the regular hours worked. Candidates hired elsewhere get the range for their location, and the exact offer amount appears in the offer letter.

The role may also earn performance-based incentive pay, which can include cash bonuses and or long-term incentives (LTI), discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
