Description

The company is hiring a senior data engineer and solution architect to act as lead designer for the Operations Data organization, focused on cloud-native data lakehouse architecture and Supply Chain data domains.

You will design and build scalable, high-performance data solutions on AWS database and analytics services, using the Apache Iceberg open table format, AWS Redshift, and Medallion Architecture.

You will promote data product thinking and data mesh principles, working with Supply Chain functional and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, governed, actionable data and dashboards.

The role combines hands-on engineering, solution architecture, and explaining complex data strategy to both technical teams and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, implement and oversee both legacy ETL and cloud-native ingestion frameworks and end-to-end pipelines using AWS Glue, Amazon S3, AWS EMR, AWS Lambda, and other tools such as Informatica.
  • Assess information needs and data flows to engineer scalable, reliable, cost-effective solutions.
  • Architect the data needs of Operations Supply Chain analytics using Apache Iceberg and Medallion Architecture, ensuring data quality, lineage, and accessibility.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain AWS Redshift data warehouse solutions for Supply Chain analytics, including data products aligned with enterprise consumption patterns.
  • Define and implement data product architecture and data mesh standards for business domains, covering design, ownership, discoverability, and interoperability to support dashboards and AI use cases.
  • Work with Supply Chain IT and business stakeholders to model critical data flows from SAP and planning systems, turning complex ERP data structures into governed, analytics-ready data products in the lakehouse.
  • Lead a technical data engineering team, supervise members as needed, take accountability for delivery and performance, and build a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, plus 7+ years of experience in data architecture and data engineering; or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience; or a PhD with 2 years of experience.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS database and analytics services, including AWS Glue, Amazon S3, AWS EMR, and related ingestion and transformation tools such as Informatica.
  • Demonstrated hands-on work with Apache Iceberg or similar lakehouse table formats.
  • Proficiency with AWS Redshift or other modern data warehousing platforms for enterprise data warehousing.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and data product frameworks, with familiarity in domain ownership and data product thinking under data mesh.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, the core Supply Chain ERP, and of key Supply Chain data flows and domains.
  • Familiarity with the Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) planning domain, including demand and supply planning, its underlying data models, and integration patterns with enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong programming and query skills in ETL, SQL, Python, and Apache Spark/PySpark for large-scale transformation, processing, and pipeline development.
  • Solid knowledge of data governance, cataloging with Alation or AWS Glue Data Catalog, metadata management, lineage, and data quality; experience implementing enterprise-wide governance policies and controls.
  • Ability to analyze complex business requirements, weigh technical options, and deliver efficient, scalable, cost-effective data solutions. Proven experience working largely independently in enterprise or regulated IT environments, balancing technical depth, architecture leadership, and senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Optional: Knowledge of reporting tools such as PowerBI is a plus.
