Description

The company is a Nasdaq-listed provider of wealth management, asset servicing, asset management and banking, working for private clients, families, corporations and institutions worldwide.

Founded in 1889, it has more than 135 years of financial experience and over 24,000 partners, and it aims to uphold service, expertise and integrity.

The Securities Services unit is hiring a Data Architect to set data architecture direction across Custody, Settlements, Entitlements, Reconciliations, Regulatory Reporting and Asset Servicing.

You will work with business, product, engineering and architecture teams to build scalable data models, data products, governance frameworks and integration patterns that support modernization, real-time processing, analytics and cloud adoption.

The goal is to move legacy platforms toward an event-driven, data-centric ecosystem.

Success will be judged by wider use of standard data models and architecture patterns, better data quality, lineage and governance, more reuse of data products, a simpler integration landscape, working real-time and analytics capabilities, and a scalable data foundation that supports growth.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the target data architecture for the Securities Services portfolio.
  • Create enterprise, domain and canonical data models for key business capabilities.
  • Write data architecture standards, design principles and governance frameworks.
  • Lead data mesh, data product, metadata, lineage and data quality strategy across business domains, working with the COO and the AS CDO.
  • Design scalable integrations using event-driven architecture, APIs and cloud-native technology.
  • Work with business and technology stakeholders so data strategy matches business priorities and modernization work.
  • Make sure data platforms serve operational, analytical, regulatory and client reporting needs.
  • Run data architecture reviews and advise on strategic programs, platform investments and solution designs.
  • Drive reuse, simplification and standardization of data assets across the enterprise.
  • Build data controls and governance practices that meet regulatory, risk, audit, security and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years in data architecture, information architecture, data management or similar roles.
  • Solid knowledge of securities services, custody, settlements, accounting, reconciliations, asset servicing or capital markets operations.
  • Deep skill in data modeling, data governance, metadata management, reference and master data, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience designing cloud data platforms, data lakes or lakehouses, and event-driven architectures.
  • Good grasp of modern integration patterns, including APIs, messaging and streaming.
  • Track record of influencing senior business and technology leaders and driving enterprise-wide architecture decisions.
  • Preferred: experience with data mesh and domain-driven data architectures.
  • Preferred: experience with Azure cloud, Databricks, Kafka, Solace and modern data platforms.
  • Preferred: familiarity with financial services regulatory and data management requirements.
  • Preferred: experience running large-scale transformation and modernization programs.
