Description

This role is onsite, with the expectation that you will work mainly from an office of the company's partner or customer.

The company builds technology that helps organisations connect, protect, and analyse data and applications from edge to cloud, so they can act on what they learn.

The role suits students or recent graduates of a college, university, or other accredited program working toward an Associate, Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in any field. You will support research, team projects, and problem-solving to build hands-on experience. Internships, research roles, visiting scholar posts, and other program placements are included.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the site team and the Americas Tech Advisor (ATA) to create and revise continuous improvement (CI) processes in case management, site process alignment, documented processes, process gaps, contracts, revenue, and KPIs and metrics.
  • Communicate with team members in person, by phone, and online through email, Teams, and Slack.
  • Occasionally help with hands-on hardware and system installation.
  • Review tickets for needed hardware actions, claim them, and record the work in the ticket system before passing the ticket on.
  • Train on specialised compute, network, and storage hardware.
  • Read system documentation and diagrams to locate specific components.
  • Use hand tools and low-power tools such as battery screwdrivers, choose the right tool for each job, and keep tools organised on site.
  • Lift and move parts and equipment up to 50 lbs alone or up to 75 lbs with another person.
  • Occasionally drive a pallet jack to move inventory within the site, for equipment that does not require an operator's licence.
  • Occasionally help with system installation.
  • Coordinate with the parts inventory manager where relevant.
  • Support senior team members on technical projects assigned by the business unit.
  • Help find and troubleshoot technical issues, and propose solutions.
  • Attend team meetings, learn project methods, and work well with colleagues.
  • Keep learning new technologies and methods relevant to your work.
  • Complete tasks your supervisor assigns on time and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with using AI tools such as CoPilot and GitHub for process automation.
  • A strong interest in high-tech HPC and a drive to keep learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good time management and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and a strong sense of urgency.

Conditions

Primarily based at a partner or customer office, as this role is onsite.

Hourly base salary of USD 35.00 to 41.00 in Illinois, USA. Final offers may vary based on location, experience, education, and skill level. Variable incentives may also be offered.

Candidates who are enrolled at a university, college, or institution and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a technical field are typically the target. Most interns work during school breaks and return to their studies afterwards. Full-time students may work part-time during the school year in some countries.

Accommodation requests can be made at any stage of the application or interview process.

The company is an equal opportunity employer that makes decisions based on qualifications, merit, and business need, and it complies with laws on arrest and conviction records.
