Senior/Staff Software Engineer (Platform)

Description

The team builds the cloud platform behind Altium 365, a product that helps electronics design engineers communicate, collaborate and get their designs to market. The platform has more than 100 services.

Altium is part of the Renesas Group, headquartered in San Diego, California. It is a global software company that offers a cloud-based platform connecting every stakeholder and stage of electronics development.

The role is product development for complex cloud applications on the Altium 365 Platform team. You may also help shape new features for electronics engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build new cloud-native applications and scalable infrastructure.
• Use AI and ML to improve search capabilities.
• Work on large-scale data processing, data modelling and intent-based API design.
• Design and build stateful and stateless servers, relational databases and ORM-based data access.
• Develop complex cloud applications as part of the Altium 365 Platform team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of.NET experience.
• Deep expertise in at least one of: identity and authentication, access or license management, message queues or brokers, distributed caches, ElasticSearch or OpenSearch, relational database design and optimisation, platform framework development, multi-tenancy, or the Rings Protection Model in cloud development.
• Proven experience building and running distributed, high-load systems, including performance profiling, optimisation, load testing and stress testing.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems that differ from typical market products, combining engineering software with cloud services.
• Ability to influence technical direction across several teams and drive architectural decisions.
• Experience defining and driving engineering standards, best practices and technical governance at platform level.
• Experience with Firebird, Oracle or Postgres.
• Experience with Azure, GCP or AliCloud.
