Description

The role is remote within the USA.

The company runs its integrations on Dell Boomi. The platform includes 445 integrations and handles about 1.75 million transactions a day across 11 brands and 35 business capabilities, and it runs around the clock. Nearly every customer-facing system connects through it.

As the senior Boomi integration developer, you are the US-based technical lead for this integration estate. You own the integration architecture, design, build, test, deploy and support the integrations, and decide how to respond when something fails in production.

You sit between business teams and offshore developers. Business teams describe needs in their own terms, and offshore developers build from your designs. You turn the first into the second and check the quality of the output, which is a major part of the job.

The platform is large and high stakes, and you are accountable for it. The approach is simple: deliver daily, own outcomes, and get the necessary work done.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integration projects and design scalable architectures, while still writing and reviewing code yourself.
  • Work with business and IT stakeholders to collect, define and document integration requirements.
  • Convert business and end-user needs into technical specifications that are clear, workable and scalable.
  • Direct integration development and coordinate onshore and offshore teams so work ships on schedule and within scope.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, maintain and support integration solutions across their full lifecycle.
  • Set integration development standards, best practices and governance, and make sure they are followed.
  • Take part in Scrum ceremonies and confirm customer needs are met by reviewing, validating and signing off deliverables.
  • Keep the integration architecture sound, reliable, scalable and running smoothly.
  • Look for ways to improve integration processes, tools and solutions.
  • Explain technical topics clearly to both business and end users.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology (IT), computer science (CS), software engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of integration development experience, including at least 3+ years hands-on with Dell Boomi.
  • 3+ years of API management experience.
  • 2+ years of ETL development experience.
  • 1+ years of EDI development experience.
  • Strong experience with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL or similar.
  • Working knowledge of API and web service formats and protocols: JSON, XML, SOAP, REST and OData.
  • Hands-on work with integration, API and EDI platforms, especially Dell Boomi.
  • Skill in programming and scripting languages such as SQL, JavaScript and Groovy.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for integration deployments.
  • Solid grasp of integration security, including OAuth, SSL/TLS and data encryption.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with Boomi's AI capabilities.
  • Nice to have: experience integrating enterprise applications and platforms such as SAP ECC, Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion, PeopleSoft, Shopify, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Service CRM, Oracle EPM, Salsify, Widen, HubSpot, Blue Yonder WMS, Bloomreach, Sage CRM and Stripe.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Nice to have: experience with EDI formats X12 and EDIFACT.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of Agile methods and software development practices.
  • Nice to have: Dell Boomi Integration Platform certification(s).
