Description

The company is a major UK bank and is transforming quickly, investing in its people, data and technology to serve its 28 million customers.

This is a fixed term contract, ending Thursday 12 November 2026, covering maternity leave.

The role leads CRM and growth across the company's consumer businesses, bringing together customer acquisition, lifecycle engagement and relationship deepening across paid and owned channels.

The team works in a matrix, where Full Funnel Marketing teams partner with specialist Accelerators.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the CRM and growth strategy across the full customer lifecycle, linking acquisition, engagement, retention and deepening to deliver measurable incremental growth.
  • Work with Full Funnel Marketing teams to turn business priorities into data-led customer strategies, placing CRM and growth specialists into agile, cross-functional teams.
  • Lead digital acquisition across paid search, display, affiliates, programmatic, SEO, ASO, retargeting, referral and app marketing, managing spend against clear commercial outcomes and return on investment.
  • Set the overall CRM strategy, with clear frameworks for audience, channel, cadence and contact across email, internet banking, in-app and push.
  • Use customer data, segmentation, behavioural insight and decisioning to get the right message, proposition or experience to the right customer at the right time.
  • Own a test, learn and scale approach: design activity with solid measurement, automate and scale what works, and share learning across Marketing.
  • Oversee relevant paid media and discretionary customer communications, balancing commercial opportunity, customer experience and channel capacity.
  • Put in place the Adtech, MarTech, tracking, attribution and performance frameworks that show how results are achieved.
  • Speed up delivery and improve efficiency by working with Platform and Technology teams and using automation and artificial intelligence in workflows.
  • Lead key agency and partner relationships, including the media agency, to secure strong thinking, excellent execution and commercial value.
  • Lead the CRM and Growth teams, setting clear priorities, keeping standards high and building a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Requirements

  • Experience building strategies that link customer acquisition with lifecycle engagement, retention and deepening to drive sustainable commercial growth.
  • Proven leadership across paid search, display, affiliates, programmatic, SEO, ASO, retargeting, referral and app marketing, with strong experience managing investment against acquisition, conversion and customer value outcomes.
  • Proven experience using customer data, segmentation, behavioural insight and decisioning to optimise audience, channel, cadence and content across the lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and commercial judgement, with experience setting up tracking, testing, attribution and measurement that prove incrementality and support investment decisions.
  • Practical experience applying MarTech, Adtech, automation and artificial intelligence to improve personalisation, efficiency and speed to market.
  • Proven experience managing large budgets, agency relationships, workflows and marketing risk, and leading specialist teams through change and delivery.
  • Ability to work across a matrix organisation, make hard trade-offs and build strong relationships with senior customers, peers and cross-functional partners.
  • Humble, curious and highly collaborative, thinking in terms of 'we' rather than 'me', creating clarity without competing for ownership, and building an inclusive, psychologically safe environment.
