Description

The company is a price-reporting agency and information provider for global commodities, supplying price data, news, analytics and events to the agriculture, forest products, metals and mining, and new-generation energy markets. Customers use its data to understand and forecast volatile markets for trading and risk management.

The company was founded in 1865 and has more than 700 employees across the UK, US, China, India, Singapore, Brazil, Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland and other locations.

This is a senior leadership role that combines customer strategy, customer insight, marketing technology, data and transformation. You will shape lifecycle marketing and lead the responsible use of AI across the marketing function.

You will set direction and design the operating model, and you will also build agents, automations and integrations yourself. You will work with marketing subject-matter experts to turn their ideas into reliable workflows, from prototype to production.

Responsibilities

  • Own the lifecycle marketing strategy and the marketing automation roadmap, covering acquisition, onboarding, adoption, engagement, renewal, expansion and advocacy for subscription, digital product and events customers.
  • Use direct customer feedback and behavioural signals to improve journeys, propositions and decisions.
  • Design and refine customer journeys using behavioural, commercial and product-usage data to improve engagement, adoption, retention and growth.
  • Build lifecycle programmes for high-value, growth and at-risk segments, using predictive signals and customer intelligence.
  • Set lifecycle KPIs, reporting and roadmaps, working with Marketing, Sales, Client Services, Product and Data teams to match journeys to commercial priorities.
  • Act as the senior expert on Marketo and related platforms, setting best practice for automation, lead management, lifecycle orchestration, segmentation and reporting.
  • Design, build and improve automations, integrations, AI-powered workflows and customer journeys that make marketing more efficient, scalable and personal.
  • Work with Marketing, Technology and Data teams to develop and deploy AI agents, API integrations and connected workflows that support marketing execution.
  • Set frameworks, standards and governance for AI solutions so they deliver measurable value, reliability and adoption across marketing.
  • Lead audience segmentation, customer health and targeting frameworks for more relevant, personalised experiences.
  • Use attribution, journey analytics and customer insight to find what drives engagement, adoption, retention and growth.
  • Work with Marketing, Product, Commercial and Data teams to improve data quality, access and governance so insight is trusted and usable.
  • Turn customer data into clear recommendations for lifecycle strategy, campaigns, engagement and commercial decisions.
  • Own and deliver the marketing AI roadmap, finding and scaling use cases that improve engagement, marketing effectiveness and team productivity.
  • Lead marketing's AI Centre of Excellence, setting best practice, governance and adoption across the function.
  • Evaluate, implement and improve AI tools, agents and workflows for customer intelligence, personalisation, campaign execution and efficiency.
  • Work with Technology, Data and Legal teams to deploy AI responsibly, and coach marketers to adopt new ways of working.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Email Marketing Executives, set clear objectives and build their technical, strategic and commercial skills.
  • Set best practice for campaign build, testing, quality assurance, deliverability, compliance, documentation and reporting.
  • Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, and help colleagues handle the practical and people effects of technology change.
  • Own email deliverability, consent management and compliance with data protection and electronic marketing rules.
  • Set clear governance for marketing automation, AI-enabled workflows, audience use and customer communications.
  • Manage platform, vendor and agency relationships, ensuring value, performance and appropriate controls.
  • Report regularly to senior Marketing leadership on lifecycle performance, AI adoption, productivity gains, risks, insights and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Essential: significant experience leading B2B marketing automation, lifecycle marketing, customer engagement or marketing technology programmes.
  • Essential: deep hands-on Marketo expertise, including architecture, programmes, smart campaigns, nurture, scoring, lead lifecycle and Salesforce integration.
  • Essential: strong Salesforce knowledge across campaigns, leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities and reporting.
  • Essential: proven record designing complex customer journeys, segmentation frameworks and retention or adoption programmes with measurable results.
  • Essential: experience running digital transformation, marketing operations or technology-driven change across cross-functional teams.
  • Essential: solid understanding of practical AI use in marketing, including taking use cases from idea through pilot to adoption.
  • Essential: ability to turn business needs into scalable workflows, automation, data and technology solutions.
  • Highly desirable: experience with Dreamdata, Clay or comparable attribution, enrichment and audience-building platforms.
  • Highly desirable: experience designing or deploying AI agents, copilots, no-code automations or AI-enabled workflows.
  • Highly desirable: familiarity with APIs, MCP, agent frameworks, evaluation methods or integration architecture, enough to work well with technical specialists.
  • Highly desirable: experience developing AI governance, enablement or adoption programmes within a marketing organisation.
  • Highly desirable: experience building customer health models, predictive analytics, propensity models or churn interventions.
  • You are highly motivated and driven, enjoy fast-moving teams, work well with others and are comfortable with flexible working.
  • You do not need to match every point above to apply.
