This is a regional position covering the Mid-Atlantic area: Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Grow yearly sales at customer accounts for the automation, control and networking line, including ethernet (wired or wireless), safety, controllers, IO, HMIs, IPCs and engineered solutions, though that list is not limited to these.
  • Work alongside the local sales team on joint sales calls, training sessions and shared action plans to move these products forward.
  • Serve as the local technical contact for these products and back the sales team on power-related technical questions.
  • Act as the regional marketing lead by building sales tools and collateral and running campaigns.
  • Bring customer feedback back to the company as the voice of the customer, informing new product lines or target industries.
  • Push value-added applications and engineered solutions.

  • Apply BASE selling methods to build solid customer relationships.
  • Build and keep relationships with prospects, partners and other stakeholders to win new business and sustain growth.
  • Keep CRM records accurate and use the CRM for communication, reporting, measurement and tracking.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with everyone on the company team.
  • Use all sales tools provided for local markets and encourage others to do the same.
  • Take an active part in relevant industry associations.
  • Use every available resource and sales tool to work efficiently, respond quickly and keep customers happy.
  • Keep developing your skills through a training program set by the RSM, the Director of Sales and/or the Harrisburg Training Department.
  • Show technical competence on every product and solution in your area.
  • Send reports to the RSM when required.
  • Give presentations and hands-on demonstrations of the company's automation, control and networking products, applications and technology to drive sales.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all automation, control and networking products and solutions.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A four-year college degree is required. A technical field is preferred, or equivalent industry experience can be accepted.
  • At least 3 years of sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products.
  • Ability to work on your own from a home office and communicate well with colleagues with limited supervision.
  • Strong spoken and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, and able to learn and adapt quickly.
  • You must be able to travel by air.
  • You must hold a valid driver's license and be able to drive for up to 6 hours at a time.
  • You must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • You must be able to travel overnight 40% or more of the time, or as the assigned territory requires.
  • Follow the company dress code.
