The role combines hands-on pipeline building with leading an offshore team and working alongside enterprise architects.

Responsibilities

  • Build data and ETL pipelines, and review the artefacts produced by an offshore team of data engineers.
  • Do code reviews, run agile ceremonies and keep project delivery on schedule.
  • Provide onsite presence and technical leadership to the offshore team.
  • Enforce best practices for code quality and testing.
  • Design batch and real-time ingestion pipelines that scale, withstand failures and stay reliable.
  • Set coding standards and integration design patterns.
  • Oversee ETL or streaming processes that move data from APIs, relational databases, flat files and cloud storage into central data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Put data profiling, reconciliation, validation frameworks and automated tests in place to protect integrity, consistency and compliance.
  • Work with enterprise architects to align pipelines with business intelligence and analytics needs.
  • Work with data architects, data administrators, product owners and business analysts to turn business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Write hands-on pipeline artefacts for critical data work.
  • Troubleshoot critical pipeline bottlenecks, tune SQL queries and manage incident resolution.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
  • 6+ years in data warehousing, data engineering, or ETL or ELT development, including at least 1, 2 years in a technical lead or senior engineering role.
  • Advanced SQL and scripting skills in Python or Java.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data integration platforms such as AWS Glue, Apache Spark or Kafka.
  • Solid understanding of snowflake schema data modelling, real-time streaming architectures and performance tuning on large datasets.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project management skills.

Conditions

Key skills: SQL, Snowflake, Python and good communication.

The role is based at the client location in Orlando, Monday to Thursday, with Friday remote work possible.
