Android Developer

Description

The company is hiring an Android developer on an 11-month contract to start, which can convert into a direct hire.

Requirements

• Expert-level Kotlin, including coroutines and Flow. Ability to read Java is needed.
• Hands-on work with MVVM, MVI or similar unidirectional data flow patterns, state hoisting and dependency injection. Kotlin Multiplatform is a plus.
• Solid grasp of UI basics: state handling, lifecycle, adaptive layouts, accessibility and performance. Experience with a declarative UI framework is needed, with Jetpack Compose preferred; React, SwiftUI or Flutter experience also counts.
• Experience building security-sensitive apps in banking, fintech, payments, healthcare or similar fields, including biometric authentication, secure storage and encryption, and OAuth 2.0 or OpenID Connect.
• Skilled with JUnit and Compose UI testing, and able to write fakes and test doubles and test coroutines and Flows. Robolectric is a plus.
• Experience in automated build pipelines, with GitLab CI preferred. Comfortable with Gradle Kotlin DSL, build flavors and version catalogs.
• Strong REST API experience, including authenticated sessions and token refresh. Ktor client is a plus; Retrofit or OkHttp experience transfers.
• Experience with Google Play Console, app signing, staged rollouts and release management.
• Proficient with Git, with GitLab preferred, and merge-request-based code review.

Conditions

Contract length of 11 months to start, with the option to convert to a direct hire.

Hybrid flexibility applies if the role is onsite, with 5 days in the office.
