Senior Mobile App Developer (Swift)

You would join a growing mobile team, as mobile-first work is becoming central to delivering for clients.

The role involves varied client projects, and there is scope to broaden your skills into cross-platform work with Kotlin Multiplatform.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain iOS apps in Swift, applying sound practices and established architecture patterns.
• Set up and look after Firebase services that deliver real-time push notifications.
• Find ways to improve existing mobile solutions and carry out the technical changes needed.
• Work with product managers, designers and backend developers to turn requirements into mobile solutions that can scale.
• Write clean, maintainable code, with thorough tests and documentation.
• Take part in code reviews and help improve how the team develops software.
• Diagnose and fix technical faults, and improve app speed and the user experience.
• Help shape architecture decisions and assess new technologies, including where Kotlin Multiplatform could help.

Requirements

• Essential: proven experience shipping production iOS apps written in Swift.
• Essential: hands-on experience with Google Firebase.
• Essential: experience improving and optimising existing mobile solutions.
• Essential: a solid grasp of mobile development principles and UI/UX considerations.
• Desirable: experience developing with Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Desirable: familiarity with the GDS Service Standard and government digital services.
• Desirable: background in consultancy or working with clients.
• Desirable: additional information.
