Description

The company is a technology firm within Accenture that serves US federal clients in defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health.

As Data Architect (SME), you lead the design and management of the enterprise data environment so information stays accurate, connected, and ready for advanced analytics and AI.

You join traditional databases with modern data platforms and semantic and knowledge-graph technology to produce insight that supports better decisions.

You set data standards, secure data sharing, and work with engineering and AI teams to keep data structured, governed, and high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and maintain enterprise data architecture that brings multiple data systems together.
  • Create and run knowledge graphs, ontologies, and metadata models so data is easier to understand and find.
  • Build secure, governed data pipelines and processes that produce trusted, high-quality data.
  • Give AI and analytics teams structured, context-rich data for model development and retrieval workflows.
  • Set the governance, data quality, and metadata rules for the whole organization.
  • Assess emerging technologies and propose upgrades to data platforms and processes.
  • Make sure data sharing and access meet security, compliance, and zero trust requirements.

Requirements

  • You hold a bachelor's degree.
  • You have at least 10 years in data architecture, data engineering, or a closely related area.
  • You have hands-on depth with enterprise data platforms, distributed systems, and modern pipelines.
  • You know semantic technologies such as RDF, OWL, and SPARQL, plus ontology and knowledge graph design.
  • You have worked with metadata management, data lineage, and governance processes.
  • You understand cloud data services and secure integrations across multiple environments.
  • You can explain complex technical ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have worked on an in-house, custom-built application.
  • You have advanced experience in AI, GenAI, and multi-model engineering, including orchestrating multiple models and modalities.
  • You have experience with provenance tracking and end-to-end data lineage.
  • You have worked in air-gapped, hybrid, and on-premise operating environments.
  • You have built UI, backend, and middleware components using TypeScript, React, Python, and other modern tools.
  • You have supported AI/ML teams, retrieval architectures, or vector-based search.
  • You have a background in secure, multi-enclave, or zero trust environments.
  • You have experience with streaming data, real-time processing, or hybrid cloud architectures.
  • You hold an advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
