As Data Architect (Manager), you will advise on data structures, data flows, data sourcing and data governance, and lead the team on data matters.

You will work with clients to understand their data needs and make sure solutions fit their purpose. You may also work at solution or enterprise level, for example resolving data definition and master data conflicts across complex groups of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to understand their data requirements and take responsibility for solutions being fit for purpose.
  • Provide technical leadership to the team on data.
  • Manage, coach and develop a small team, focusing on performance and career development.
  • Set direction for your team and lead it through difficult problems.
  • Where needed, work at solution or enterprise level to resolve data definition and mastering issues across complex stakeholder environments.

Requirements

  • Experience in the UK healthcare or public sector.
  • Strong technical design skills across data modelling, data analysis, metadata management, data transformation, data migration and master data.
  • A record of technical leadership on data projects, including assurance, mentoring and setting standards. You know current best practice and methods.
  • Experience selecting products or technologies for a project or across an enterprise.
  • Strong client engagement skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, able to offer thought leadership to clients and the wider industry and to inspire colleagues.
  • Highly proficient in at least three mainstream data technologies, with awareness of wider data technology trends.
  • Able to work on your own and comfortable with a high degree of uncertainty.
  • A proven ability to manage, coach and develop junior team members and the wider community.
  • Desirable: skill in defining information handling models and planning capacity across heterogeneous data store technologies.
  • Desirable: experience establishing data governance processes.
  • Desirable: experience architecting a data lake and solutions that sit within a data lake ecosystem.
  • Desirable: enterprise data architecture experience.

Conditions

The company is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and welcomes applicants of all backgrounds, regardless of any protected characteristic, and offers a fair process; if you need accommodations or adjustments, talent acquisition will arrange a private conversation to tailor the process.
