Description

The company is a global technology and professional services firm serving US government, defense and intelligence agencies, with 26,000 staff across more than 50 countries.

This is an enterprise IT engineering role in the IT Infrastructure and Operations job family, on a team that spans several technology disciplines.

You will design, automate, troubleshoot and keep improving the desktop platforms used across a large enterprise. The work is engineering rather than routine desktop support.

Your work will cover Windows and HPE ThinPro, application deployment, endpoint management, automation, security, networking, authentication and infrastructure.

Working alongside engineers from other disciplines lets you build depth in your field while widening your skills beyond one technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain and tune Windows and thin-client images.
  • Manage applications from start to finish: packaging, configuration, enterprise rollout, upgrades and removal.
  • Script repetitive tasks in PowerShell and other languages so that work is more consistent, quicker and dependable.
  • Find root causes of complex faults by examining operating systems, applications, configurations, logs, authentication, networking and dependencies.
  • Build new capabilities that raise endpoint reliability, performance, security and user experience.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines to take ideas through to production.
  • Challenge inefficient processes and make endpoint operations smarter, faster and more reliable.
  • Take ownership of problems, investigate them, develop solutions and deliver them with limited oversight.

Requirements

  • Experience engineering, administering or supporting enterprise Windows desktop environments.
  • Experience building, maintaining or deploying Windows desktop images.
  • Experience with installing, packaging, configuring, deploying or managing application lifecycles.
  • Experience with PowerShell or another scripting or programming language.
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to find root cause.
  • Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and perform in a fast-moving engineering setting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification, and 8570 compliance with a Security+ certification.

Conditions

Onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD, on a regular, full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.

Travel is less than 10% of the time.

Clearance: you must currently hold Top Secret SCI with polygraph, or be able to obtain it. No Public Trust or other clearance is required.

US citizenship is required.

Hiring includes an identity verification process using biometrics and AI. Virtual interviews require you to be on camera, and by proceeding you consent to the use of your biometric data for verification and security.

Likely base salary is $136,000 to $184,000. This is not a guarantee. Pay depends on experience, geographic location and possibly contract terms, and may fall outside this range.

Equal opportunity employer that considers individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Benefits

  • Medical plan options, some with Health Savings Accounts, plus dental and vision plans.
  • 401(k) that accepts pre-tax and post-tax contributions up to IRS limits, with a company match.
  • Full flex work weeks where possible, and paid time off including vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, paid parental, military, bereavement and jury duty leave.
  • Short and long-term disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness, and business travel and accident insurance, provided or available.
  • An AI-powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunities, and an internal mobility team.
  • Competitive pay, and a military-friendly workplace.
