Engineering Lead Analyst

Description

You are a senior technology analyst who enjoys building enterprise products and works hands on with engineering. The role sits in the company's Cloud Technology Services team, which is moving technology onto the public cloud to gain speed, lower cost and open up new ways to build infrastructure.

You will put in place the architecture and engineering practices for the base layer that applications run on in the public cloud: accounts, networking, compute, storage and observability. You will write microservices and automate how infrastructure is provisioned and orchestrated. You will work alongside application developers from design through deployment, operation and ongoing iteration. Deep industry knowledge and experience building an engineering group both matter.

Responsibilities

• Automate the base public cloud layer, covering accounts, networking and compute.
• Build the tools and capabilities that make the cloud-first strategy work.
• Set up cloud onboarding, account creation and account management for each supported provider, in a form developers find easy to use.
• Keep solutions compliant with regulations and policy by maintaining accurate requirements traceability.
• Define and enforce engineering practices on a modern SDLC that favours CI/CD, automation, auditability, automated testing, and infrastructure and policy as code.
• Propose and build cloud-native solutions for system needs that the technical community has no existing answer for.
• Improve processes and automation to raise client satisfaction, keeping solutions aligned with the operations roadmap.
• Pass requirements and tasks from technology departments and end users on to stakeholders.
• Apply a deep understanding of engineering concepts and principles.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on Java development.
• Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.0+ skills.
• Building secure REST services and microservices.
• Working with CI/CD build pipelines and toolchains such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Harness, Tekton, Maven, Artifactory and Jira.
• Container technology (Docker) and Kubernetes platforms such as EKS, GKE or OpenShift.
• Test-driven development and automated UI testing with tools such as JUnit, Jasmine, Karma, Cucumber and Selenium.
• Working knowledge of middleware and distributed messaging with Kafka.
• Experience with MongoDB and SQL databases.
• Familiarity with Domain Driven Design and Event Driven Architecture.
• Hands-on experience deploying and running code on public clouds and in container environments.
• Preferred: understanding of native public cloud services on AWS or GCP.
• Preferred: experience with IaC tools and languages such as Terraform.
• Preferred: experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT bearer tokens, identity frameworks, X509 certificate security, Windows security for Java and.NET, trust chain security and SAML SSO.
• Preferred: experience with ELK, Splunk and Prometheus.
• Preferred: experience with workflow engines such as BPM, Camunda or jBPM.
• Preferred: high proficiency with open-source technologies, frameworks and tools.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: a master's degree.

Conditions

Full-time role based in Irving, Texas, United States.

Base salary range of $125,760.00 - $188,640.00.
