Full Stack Java/Python Tech Lead - Vice President

Description

The company is a global bank with about 200 million customer accounts, operating in more than 160 countries and jurisdictions.

It serves consumers, corporations, governments and institutions through consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services and wealth management.

This senior role sits within the Enterprise Operations & Technology group. You will set up and deliver new or revised application systems and programs with the Technology team, leading applications systems analysis and programming work.

Responsibilities

• Work with several management teams to align functions toward shared goals, and pinpoint system upgrades needed to launch products and improve processes.
• Tackle high-impact problems and projects by carefully reviewing complex business processes, system workflows and industry standards.
• Bring deep applications programming expertise and make sure application designs follow the overall architecture blueprint.
• Apply thorough knowledge of system flow to set standards for coding, testing, debugging and deployment.
• Build a full picture of how business areas such as architecture and infrastructure connect to reach business objectives.
• Analyze issues in depth, think interpretively, and craft new solutions.
• Mentor and guide mid-level developers and analysts, assigning work where needed.
• Weigh risk in business decisions with close attention to the firm's reputation and to protecting the company, its clients and assets. Drive compliance with laws, rules, regulations and internal policy, use sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage and report control issues openly.

Requirements

• Recommended: 6-10 years of experience in applications development or systems analysis.
• Recommended: Hands-on experience with Java and Python, and with microservices.
• Recommended: Experience working with SQL and Oracle databases.
• Recommended: Experience in machine learning.
• Recommended: Deep experience analyzing systems and building software applications.
• Recommended: Track record of managing and delivering successful projects.
• Recommended: Subject matter expertise in at least one applications development area.
• Recommended: Ability to shift priorities quickly as conditions change.
• Recommended: Proven leadership and project management skills.
• Recommended: Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: Master's degree.

Salary range for the primary location: $142,320.00 - $213,480.00.
