Senior COTS Developer

Description

The company is hiring a senior developer to support a mission-critical program for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

You will build, change and upkeep the programs, components and interfaces of a COTS software suite that runs HR, financial and customer relationship functions.

You will write code, use SQL to turn database records into usable reports, and support the Business Intelligence (BI) and integration parts of the software.

The role contributes directly to national security missions.

Responsibilities

• Create, change and maintain application programs, components and interfaces inside the COTS software suite.
• Keep the software for HR, Financials and Customer Relationship Data running in daily operations.
• Use COTS development and reporting tools to drive modernization and enhancements, find and fix defects, and provide Tier 3 support.
• Write and tune SQL queries that pull data into usable reports.
• Work on the Business Intelligence (BI) and integration components of the software.
• Support system integration and API development that connects COTS applications to other systems.
• Handle platform customization, database and query management, and configuration control.
• Help with data conversion and data migration, keeping data accurate and complete throughout.
• Work with program stakeholders so development matches business and technical requirements.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance, and the ability to get and keep SCI access and pass a polygraph.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or 4 additional years of relevant experience on top of the 5 years listed below, in place of the degree.
• 10+ years working with COTS development tools for system integration, APIs, platform customization, database and query management, and configuration control.
• Fluency in Java, Python, JavaScript and SQL, with hands-on experience writing complex queries against relational databases.
• Experience with data conversions and data migrations within or between COTS platforms.
• Proficiency in HTML.
• Desired: AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or higher) and/or SAFe Agilist certification.
• Desired: experience with Momentum Financials (Unison/CGI) systems.
• Desired: experience supporting NGA or other NGA/IC customer environments.

Conditions

Full-time, regular position.

No travel is required, and the travel type is local.

Top Secret clearance is needed to start.

Base pay range: $120,800 to $265,800.

Final pay depends on factors including location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, prior relevant experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
