Senior Python Engineer

Description

You will help establish and roll out new or revised application systems and programs, working with the technology team.

The role centers on applications analysis and programming within the Applications Development group of Technology.

Responsibilities

• Carry out feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning and technology risk work, and build new or revised applications and models that meet specific business needs.
• Oversee every stage of development, from analysis and design through construction, testing and implementation, and support business users on the applications.
• Apply deep applications development expertise to complex problems, assess business processes, system processes and industry standards, and make sound judgments.
• Design and recommend security measures, reviewing how systems are used after launch to confirm they work as intended.
• Advise users, clients and other technology groups, propose advanced programming solutions, and install and support systems for customer exposure.
• Make sure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
• Advise and coach newer or junior analysts.
• Work with limited direct supervision and use independent judgment.
• Act as subject matter expert for senior stakeholders and team members.
• Weigh risk in business decisions with attention to the firm's reputation and to protecting the company, its clients and assets, which means following laws, rules, regulations and policy, using ethical judgment, and reporting control issues openly.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in Java/J2EE, Python and PL/SQL, with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience working on agile projects.
• Experience with GitHub and other version control systems.
• Experience with PySpark.
• Working understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methods.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Solid grasp of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Understanding of AI principles and machine learning concepts, and of building AI-driven applications in Python with modern AI frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
• Recommended: 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Recommended: experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Recommended: experience managing and delivering projects successfully.
• Recommended: working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques and methods.
• Recommended: ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or sudden changes in expectations or requirements.

Conditions

Full-time position based in Irving, Texas, United States.

Primary location salary range is $107,120.00 - $160,680.00.
