Engineer

Description

The company is hiring an engineer in Cary, NC to apply Agile practices across the full software cycle for the Payments platform: planning, design, build, testing and delivery.

The role is a good fit for someone who has built customer-facing applications and wants to work on cloud-based, multi-region payment systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deliver software for the Payments platform using Agile practices.
• Build scalable, distributed backend services in Java and Spring Boot to handle high payment volumes.
• Develop customer-facing application components and complex, type-safe web interfaces for corporate dashboards, using component-based architecture.
• Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform, including GKE, Cloud Run and Pub/Sub.
• Maintain automated deployment workflows in GitHub Actions and Workflows to support fast, stable releases.
• Update build and test steps in enterprise CI workflows, fix straightforward pipeline failures and check routine job health.
• Keep Docker, Helm and Terraform configurations current for containerized deployments.
• Apply resiliency patterns with Resilience4J.
• Monitor system health and performance with New Relic and GCP-native tools such as Cloud Monitoring and Logging.
• Design end-to-end payment workflows on Temporal that coordinate cross-system tasks, enforce dependencies and reduce manual steps in multi-region processing.
• Write test automation and component tests with Selenium and Cucumber.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
• Two (2) years of experience designing and developing end-to-end customer-facing application components with Java, Spring Boot, React, microservices, monorepo models, MVC patterns and responsive UI principles.
• Two (2) years of experience running cloud-based, multi-region payment applications on Google Cloud Platform, including serverless services, IAM, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub and GKE.

Conditions

Based in Cary, NC.

Salary range: $104,500.00 to $140,000.00 per year.
