Solution Architect (f/m/x)

The bank runs a Corporate Bank, a Private Bank, an Investment Bank and an Asset Management division. Its staff help clients handle a more complicated financial world.

The team works in Belgium and with colleagues abroad, shaping the company's technology landscape.

Responsibilities

• You will design solutions for complex business problems that cut across several technology areas.
• Turn complicated business or IT problems into building blocks covering business, application and technology layers.
• Help stakeholders gather functional requirements and quality attribute goals.
• Define and document the architecture, including decisions and views that address stakeholder concerns.
• Make sure principles, policies, standards and guidelines are followed.
• Guide implementation and adjust the architecture when things change.
• Explain the solution architecture to business and IT stakeholders.
• Work with other architects so the architecture stays consistent across the company Belgium.
• Support development and operations teams with technology challenges.

Requirements

• Deep experience with middleware (messaging, API gateway), API standards (REST, Swagger), Java, container deployment (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Helm), Docker, and authentication and authorisation protocols (OpenID Connect, OAuth2).
• Solid grasp of security for transactional microservices, including DMZ, cryptography, PKI certificates, penetration testing, XSS and CSRF.
• Experience with modelling techniques (UML, ArchiMate) and the Sparx EA tool.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate in both technical and business language.
• Proven ability to use AI tools to raise productivity and streamline workflows, while judging critically how data and AI outputs are used responsibly and ethically.
• Fluent English plus French or Dutch.
• Customer-focused, creative and analytical, with high motivation for demanding work.
• Able to work alone and in a team, with a strong team spirit.
