Description

The company builds the base platforms for its video surveillance products, and this role sits in its Technologies department within R&D.

You would join the Common Core Platform team, which brings together three functional teams that own boot and firmware, cyber security, the Linux kernel and drivers, and the memory sub-system.

The team works closely with colleagues on hardware and products and gets involved when first chip samples arrive for bring-up.

The DRAM team is the newest of the three and serves as the company's centre for memory sub-systems. It handles initialization, tuning and validation of DRAM across platforms, including memory controllers and interfaces on new designs, stability testing, and debugging memory issues in products already shipped.

The team currently has two engineers, so you would be the third and could help shape how the team works.

Responsibilities

  • Work hands-on on new features that extend the platform portfolio.
  • Improve the performance of embedded systems.
  • Track down complex bugs.
  • Assess memory sub-systems and hardware platforms for performance and stability.
  • Specify and validate the company's ASICs and hardware reference platforms.
  • Work with internal and external contacts, such as customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Write memory initialization code, boot loaders and the related Linux kernel support.
  • Carry out DRAM qualification work.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering or a similar field.
  • Experience writing embedded C close to hardware.
  • Working knowledge of Git, Gerrit and Jenkins.
  • Merit: prior work initializing, tuning and validating memory sub-systems, including memory controllers, memory bus and DRAM. This is a strong merit.
  • Merit: experience with boot processes or Linux kernel development.
  • Relevant skills that count as merit in these areas include embedded Linux programming, Linux kernel and device driver frameworks, upstream Linux kernel contributions, Linux device driver development, boot and boot loaders, and tuning, validation and debugging of memory sub-systems.
  • You are analytical and committed, with strong drive and attention to detail. You can work independently as well as in a team, enjoy writing code and debugging IoT devices, and design solutions that hold up to future challenges.

Conditions

Permanent employment in the company's headquarters in Lund, Sweden, office-based.
