Description

The company is an edge-to-cloud business that helps customers connect, protect and analyze their data and applications, from the edge to the cloud.

The team designs and debugs software for ASIC SDKs and new switch products, including Linux operating systems, networking, utilities and debug tools, and it may influence hardware design.

This is an intermediate-level role. You apply what you learned in your coursework to complex problems, work on your own within set frameworks with moderate supervision, and help the team with analysis and recommendations.

You may help shape processes and policies, join cross-functional initiatives, and occasionally speak with external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design small enhancements and real-time code changes for parts of systems software, so it makes full use of the hardware.
  • Give concrete feedback that improves product quality and lowers the risk of failures.
  • Review designs and decide which coding, programming and integration work is needed to meet project goals and guidelines.
  • Write and run parts of test plans, protocols and documentation for your section of the application, then find and fix code issues or propose improvements.
  • Work within a project team alongside other software engineers and internal and outsourced partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions for your assigned system or subsystem.
  • Keep internal and outsourced partners informed about design status, progress and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Holds a bachelor's level qualification in computer engineering or a comparable field.
  • Typically, one prior internship.
  • Extensive hands-on work with C and Python for software system design.
  • Ability to read ASIC designs and understand them in detail.
  • Experience with some form of emulator and simulator environments.
  • Ability to understand RTL and write C/C++, Python, Rust and Go.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative approach.
  • Experience with software system architecture, including Linux kernel drivers.
  • Experience designing and integrating software that runs on several platform types into one overall architecture.
  • Experience evaluating testing processes and methods, including writing and running test plans, debugging, and building test scripts and tools.
  • Strong spoken and written communication, fluent in English and the local language, with the ability to present architectures, pitch design proposals and negotiate options with senior managers.
