Systems/Software Testing Engineer II Cloud & On-Premise

Description

This Systems/Software Testing Engineer II role covers both cloud and on-premise versions of the company's security management platforms.

The company connects, protects and analyzes customer data and applications from edge to cloud.

You will own end-to-end quality checks for both platforms.

Your work covers functional and regression testing across cloud-native and virtualized setups, growing the Python and Playwright automation, investigating failures, and checking fixes with developers.

Responsibilities

• Test microservices running on Kubernetes in AWS and deployed on VMware and KVM hypervisors, from end to end.
• Check browser compatibility, user workflows and traffic across supported browsers for usability, function and system response under normal conditions.
• Verify admin workflows, write up test scenarios, and confirm that system logs are created and accurate.
• Build, maintain and run automated suites in Python and Playwright, find out why tests fail, make them more dependable, and add them to CI pipelines.
• Log, track and retest defects with the development team, confirming each fix.
• Write detailed test reports and quality documents covering results, problems, risks and improvement ideas.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Two to four years of hands-on work testing networking and security products in cloud-based or virtualized environments.
• Proficiency in testing methods and automation tools.
• A sound grasp of networking concepts, protocols and security mechanisms.
• Broad knowledge of networking, virtualization and firewall technology is essential.
• Knowledge of WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers, IPv4 and IPv6.
• Working knowledge of core AWS concepts and services.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, containers and microservices.
• Strong Python programming and scripting skills for building and maintaining tests.
• Hands-on UI test automation experience, especially with Playwright.
• Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex technical issues.
• Hands-on AWS experience for deploying, testing or troubleshooting applications is preferred.
• Relevant networking or security certifications are advantageous.

Conditions

Hybrid role: on average 2 days per week in a company office.

Location: Puerto Rico.

Job level TCP02 within Engineering.
