Description

The company builds AI computing platforms spanning software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors, and has already built a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch.

The team is hiring at all seniority levels and is looking for people who enjoy collaborating, asking questions, and working on hard problems.

The role sits on the Mixed Signal Design Automation team, where you will own the EDA tool environment that the mixed-signal design teams rely on, including its deployment, configuration, reliability, and ongoing changes.

You will build AI-enabled design automation tools, write automation in Python and EDA scripting languages, work with CAD on tool and PDK setup, and help define scalable EDA flows that make mixed-signal design iteration faster and more reliable.

The role is remote, and you can be based in any location in North America.

Candidates are assessed for a suitable level during interviews, and the offer will match that level, which may differ from the level in this posting.

Responsibilities

  • Own the deployment, configuration, reliability, and evolution of the EDA environment for the mixed-signal design teams.
  • Develop, test, release, and support AI-enabled automation and workflows, mainly in Python, with Tcl or Cadence SKILL integrations where needed.
  • Work with Design Automation and CAD to build workflows, configure tools and PDKs, qualify supported versions, and keep environments reproducible.
  • Standardize automation conventions, interfaces, and data formats, and fix tool, configuration, PDK, and workflow problems.
  • Cadence and Synopsys custom flows, OpenAccess, verification, extraction, simulation, and Slurm/HPC experience is a plus.
  • Learn how mixed-signal teams use EDA tools and automation across the design lifecycle.
  • Learn how to evolve AI-enabled workflows that speed up and stabilize design iteration.
  • Learn how tool and PDK configuration, qualification, and reproducible environments support scalable design flows.
  • Learn to balance standardization and flexibility across open-source, in-house, and commercial tools while working across engineering teams.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience supporting, configuring, or automating semiconductor EDA tools in an analog, mixed-signal, custom-design, CAD, or methodology environment.
  • You are a strong Python engineer with experience in Tcl and/or Cadence SKILL, Linux-based EDA environments, and GUI or batch-flow integrations.
  • You follow software best practices such as version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, documentation, and maintainable design, and have experience with AI-assisted development tools.
  • You are analytical and collaborative, can troubleshoot complex issues, and work well with CAD, PDK, infrastructure, layout, and design teams.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience is welcome.

Conditions

Remote role, based in any location in North America.

Compensation for all engineers ranges from $100k to $500k, including base pay and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background, and location all affect the actual offer.

The offer depends on your eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology. Under U.S. export laws, including the EAR, the company must comply when transferring technology to nationals of certain countries, and this applies to people in the U.S. and abroad. Because the role has direct or indirect access to controlled information, systems, or technology, the offer may depend on your citizenship or permanent residency status or on obtaining a license from the U.S. Commerce Department or another federal agency. If employment is not possible under these laws, the offer will be withdrawn.

The company is an equal opportunity employer.
