Description

The company builds software for mission-critical intelligent systems and has done so for over 40 years. Its customers work in automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, medical and telecommunications.

You will act as a trusted advisor to the CVP of Engineering & Product, working on the organization's most important priorities. The job covers shaping strategy, guiding executive decisions and speeding up delivery across Product Management and Engineering.

You will help keep product vision, investment priorities, customer needs and engineering delivery in step with one another, and push for measurable business results.

Success is judged on strategic impact, organizational effectiveness and business outcomes, such as tighter links between product strategy, roadmap delivery and business results, and faster, clearer executive decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the CVP of Engineering & Product to set strategic priorities, align the organization and make executive decisions.
  • Act as a strategic adviser to both Product Management and Engineering, connecting product strategy, roadmap priorities, technology investment and business goals.
  • Lead a portfolio of cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Go-to-Market, Customer Success and other partner groups.
  • Lead planning on product portfolio priorities, roadmap delivery, resource trade-offs and investment choices.
  • Run executive reviews, strategic planning sessions, roadmap discussions and leadership operating rhythms.
  • Prepare executive communications, Board materials and strategic narratives that show progress, priorities and business impact.
  • Spot risks early, resolve issues across functions and move the highest-priority initiatives forward.

Requirements

  • Have 10+ years of leadership experience in strategy, product strategy, business operations, consulting, chief of staff roles, program leadership or a related field.
  • Have a track record of working closely with senior executives in product and technology organizations.
  • Have a proven record of leading enterprise-wide strategic and transformation initiatives.
  • Understand product management, product development lifecycles and engineering operating models well.
  • Communicate exceptionally well, influence executives and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Be able to drive alignment and results across functions without direct authority over them.

Conditions

Hybrid, on-site work in Walnut Creek, CA; San Diego, CA; Austin, TX; Troy, MI; Boston, MA; or Kanata, Ontario, Canada. The company will consider candidates in these areas, and a brick-and-mortar office will be leased soon.

You must be a USA national or Canadian citizen and hold no citizenship of any other country.

The base salary for this grade is $190,000 to $220,000 plus bonus for residents of Colorado, New York and New Jersey, and $200,000 to $230,000 plus bonus for residents of California, Washington and the NYC area.

Pay is set through interviews and a review of the candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, location and abilities, along with pay fairness across the team.

Successful candidates must go through a security clearance process tied to their citizenship, as required by law, in order to perform core duties. Candidates holding citizenship of certain countries may not be able to perform those duties. Currently these countries are: Belarus; Burma; China; Cuba; Iran; North Korea; Syria; Venezuela; Afghanistan; Cambodia; Central African Republic; Cyprus; Democratic Republic of Congo; Ethiopia; Eritrea; Haiti; Iraq; Lebanon; Libya; Russia; Somalia; South Sudan; Sudan; Zimbabwe. The clearance process can take a significant amount of time, and any offer depends on the candidate's legal ability to perform core duties.

The company meets its obligations to candidates under applicable human rights and privacy law.

Benefits

  • Health, dental and vision insurance, plus life insurance, subject to plan terms.
  • Flexible time off and 12 paid holidays.
