Description

The company makes fuel-dispensing equipment and convenience retail systems, including clean energy solutions, payment, automatic tank gauging and wet stock management. It is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with technology development and manufacturing sites in Brazil, China, India, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.

This role leads complex software releases that span several products and engineering teams. You will connect scope, technical dependencies, milestones, risks and readiness across the Software organization.

You will work with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Quality, Security and DevOps to deliver predictable execution, give leadership data-driven visibility, and set up scalable software program management practices as the organization matures.

Success means releases are run as integrated technical programs rather than separate team plans. Cross-product dependencies and risks surface early, teams have clear milestones and owners, and leaders get timely data on release health, readiness, risks and the decisions they need to make.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and run complex software releases across several products, platforms and teams, and own the integrated plan.
  • Set release milestones, critical paths, cross-team commitments and readiness criteria from development through production.
  • Work with engineering and technical leads to turn release scope and technical constraints into plans teams can execute.
  • Find and manage cross-product technical dependencies, integration points, risks and blockers that affect release outcomes.
  • Assess how changes to scope, architecture, technology or schedule affect the release, and drive mitigation or recovery plans.
  • Resolve cross-team issues, and escalate material risks and trade-offs with clear impact and options.
  • Build dashboards, metrics and reporting that give objective visibility into release health, milestones, dependencies, risks, scope changes and key decisions.
  • Lead release and readiness reviews, and give executives concise, data-driven reports on program health, critical risks, trade-offs and decisions needed.
  • Keep decisions, actions and cross-team commitments owned until they are closed.
  • Define and strengthen scalable program and release management processes and operating rhythms.
  • Set consistent practices for planning, milestones, dependencies, risk, change control and release readiness.
  • Use execution data, dashboards, metrics and retrospectives to find systemic bottlenecks and improve delivery predictability.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, Software Engineering or a similar technical role, including leading complex software programs across several teams.
  • Solid grasp of software development and release lifecycles, with enough technical depth to follow system architecture, integration dependencies and engineering trade-offs.
  • Proven ability to work through ambiguity, manage complex cross-team dependencies and risks, and drive programs to success without direct authority over the people involved.
  • Experience building program dashboards, metrics and executive reporting that turn complex program data into clear insights, risks and decisions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work with technical teams and senior leaders alike.
  • Preferred qualification: A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, software engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Preferred qualification: Experience with complex platforms made up of several products, services or hardware and software integrations.
  • Preferred qualification: Working knowledge of Agile, SAFe, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing and current software delivery methods.
  • Preferred qualification: Experience building software security requirements, vulnerability work, security assessments or security readiness into development and release work.
  • Preferred qualification: Experience setting up or maturing technical program or software release management practices.

Conditions

This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria in the applicable bonus plan.

Pay is set using job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including responsibilities, work experience, education or training, location and key skills, and it is part of total rewards.

Duties may be changed or reassigned at any time, and this description may change with or without notice.
