Sr Engineer, Software (Node.js)

This is a senior software engineer role focused on web applications built for the fueling and convenience retail industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain full stack web applications, using ReactJS or AngularJS on the front end and Node.js or C/.NET on the back end.
• Write and run unit tests so code stays reliable, maintainable and high quality across front-end and back-end services.
• Build reusable UI components that are responsive and perform well.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and connect them to third-party services.
• Work with product owners, architects and QA to ship high-quality features.
• Apply secure coding practices and keep applications reliable and fast.
• Help build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Support cloud deployments and infrastructure integration on AWS and Azure.
• Take part in code reviews, sprint planning and agile ceremonies using GitHub, Confluence, Jira and Azure DevOps.
• Investigate production issues, find root causes and deliver fixes.
• Keep technical documentation current and help shape development standards.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience in full stack roles.
• Hands-on experience with ReactJS and/or AngularJS.
• Solid back-end experience with Node.js and/or C (.NET/.NET Core).
• Experience building APIs and microservices and integrating SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Working knowledge of DevOps concepts, including CI/CD, source control and build and release pipelines.
• Practical exposure to cloud services on both AWS and Azure.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps (VSTS) and GitHub.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging and communication skills.
• Preferred: experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containers and orchestration.
• Preferred: familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep or CloudFormation.
• Preferred: exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor or ELK.
• Preferred: experience with authentication and authorization patterns such as OAuth2, JWT or SSO.
• Preferred: experience with fuel dispensers, payment or POS systems.

Conditions

Hybrid work: 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home each week.

Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria in the applicable bonus plan.

Pay rates are set using factors such as the role's responsibilities, the candidate's experience and education, the job location and the key skills needed. Pay is part of the total rewards offered.
