QA Analyst

Description

The company makes fuel-dispensing equipment and convenience retail systems, including clean energy solutions, payment systems, automatic tank gauging and wet stock management. It is part of the company, has a long industry history, and is headquartered in Austin, TX, with technology development and manufacturing sites in Brazil, China, India, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The team works on new products and solutions, and offers mentoring from managers and colleagues. Projects are both local and global, and can lead to different career paths.

Job grade: IC - 4.

Responsibilities

• Write test plans, scenarios, scripts and procedures, and document each step so tests can be repeated and meet standards.
• Log software defects in Jira, report them to developers, and monitor how they are fixed.
• Find, analyze and record problems with program function, output, screens or content.
• Create or improve test plans covering database impact, software scenarios, regression, negative testing, bug retests and usability.
• Plan test schedules and strategies around project scope and delivery dates.
• Run compatibility tests across programs, hardware, operating systems and networks.
• Test system changes before they go live.
• Review software documentation for technical accuracy, completeness, compliance and risk.
• Give feedback and recommendations on usability and functionality.
• Track program performance to keep operations efficient and free of recurring problems.
• Look into customer issues escalated by technical support, and work with field staff or customers to diagnose problems.
• Analyze past test results to find trends.
• Do first-pass debugging by checking configuration files, logs and code to locate the source of a failure.

Requirements

• Preferred: working knowledge of common testing methods and tools.

• Preferred: experience with XML and JSON files and editors such as Altova, Sublime and Visual Studio Code.
• Preferred: experience in a gas station or convenience store setting.
• Working experience with loyalty, mobile and card-based payment systems will be required.
