Description

The company makes some of the most culture-shaping video games in entertainment, including a top-selling sports franchise and a range of well-known titles across many genres.

Development is spread across several studios that build games for multiple platforms. This role focuses on a new IP from one of those studios, covering development, launch and live service.

This is a senior leadership role on a growing Marketing team. You will report to the Head of Marketing and act as their trusted strategic delegate, representing Global Marketing on key cross-functional work.

You will bring together consumer insight, product strategy, market conditions and business priorities so players understand the game, value it and choose to spend their time in it. The player promise has to show up in the game itself and stay consistent across campaigns, creative work and go-to-market execution.

You will work with the studio's development team, product, creative and publishing partners. You understand how systems, progression, competition, social dynamics and content drive motivation, and how those connect to acquisition, engagement, retention, community and lifecycle. You know launch is only the start.

Success here means bringing clarity to ambiguity, spotting problems early, growing the people around you and raising the standard of thinking and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global product marketing strategy for the new IP, working with the Head of Marketing from development through launch and live service.
  • Represent Global Marketing as a strategic delegate on key cross-functional initiatives, acting independently.
  • Build and run the global campaign strategy, turning the IP's positioning and player promise into marketing programs for reveal, launch and live service.
  • Turn consumer research, player behavior, competitive intelligence and market trends into product and marketing recommendations.
  • Work with Development and Product so the positioning and player promise appear in the game.
  • Shape the live-service strategy, linking acquisition, engagement, retention, community, content and lifecycle marketing.
  • Present strategies and recommendations clearly so senior leaders can make decisions.
  • Lead, mentor and grow the Product Marketing team, setting higher standards for strategy, presentation, communication and execution.
  • Align Development, Creative, Insights, Product, Community, PR, Commercial and other publishing teams.
  • Spot strategic gaps early and drive complex work from an unclear starting point to delivery.
  • Guide Creative and Development on key assets such as trailers, gameplay capture, key art, product messaging, storefront listings and other player-facing materials, so they represent the game and its value accurately.

Requirements

  • Have 10+ years in product marketing, franchise marketing, product management, brand marketing or similar consumer-facing work, including real leadership experience.
  • Have significant experience marketing free-to-play and/or live-service games, ideally shooters or competitive multiplayer, with a strong grasp of acquisition, engagement, retention, content cadence, community and lifecycle marketing.
  • Have a record of building positioning, audience strategy, value propositions and go-to-market plans for large consumer products.
  • Have worked directly with game development or product teams and influenced decisions using consumer and market insight.
  • Bring together consumer, product, market and business facts into clear direction.
  • Understand games, player behavior and competition well enough to judge how systems, progression, social dynamics and design affect motivation and market potential.
  • Write and present exceptionally well, simplifying complexity and persuading senior leaders.
  • Show sound judgment and ownership, deciding well with incomplete information and working with a lot of autonomy.
  • Have managed, mentored and grown strong marketers, and care about improving the people around you.
  • Lead across matrixed, cross-functional groups through influence rather than authority.
  • Hold high standards for quality and move easily from strategy to hands-on delivery.
  • Additional skill of benefit: experience marketing AAA, premium, free-to-play shooters or competitive multiplayer games at global scale, especially on PC and console.
  • Additional skill of benefit: experience taking a new IP or live-service game from development through launch and ongoing operations.
  • Additional skill of benefit: experience building global marketing strategies across PC and console.
  • Additional skill of benefit: deep familiarity with competitive multiplayer games, player behavior and the changing live-service market.
  • Additional skill of benefit: experience with consumer research, audience segmentation and competitive analysis, turning insight into product strategy.
  • Additional skill of benefit: experience working with first-party platforms and strategic gaming partners.
  • Additional skill of benefit: genuine curiosity about why players pick the games they play, why they keep playing, and what makes a new experience worth their time.
  • Additional skill of benefit: deep personal engagement with games and gaming culture, with broad knowledge of genres, competitive ecosystems, player communities and the market.
