Description

The company is a global sports brand making footwear, apparel and accessories for athletes and everyday movers. The group operates in more than 120 countries and has around 22,000 employees worldwide.

This is a design role on the teamsport apparel side, working on sportswear or casual sports lifestyle products in a performance category, with a focus on football culture.

The company looks for people who are driven, bring team spirit and let their own talent and experience stand out.

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver innovative designs that follow the brand, category and product strategies.
  • Own the full design process, from first ideas through to final production sign-off.
  • Help shape the seasonal creative direction and support the Teamhead in guiding the team as it is put into practice.
  • Develop and present concepts, sketches and final designs clearly and persuasively to the design team, product partners and external stakeholders.
  • Work across functions to keep the product holistic and aligned with a consumer-centred strategy in line with the brand's view.
  • Bring product, functional and technical developments into design work to improve processes and customer engagement.
  • Question the global brand positioning guidelines where needed, so new product and program ideas get a fair hearing and can be adjusted when required.
  • Gather accurate, current market intelligence on design trends and use it well.
  • Alongside the Teamhead, help manage, mentor and motivate the design team and external resources such as freelancers.
  • Track projects and help the team deliver them according to the company's development calendar.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of relevant apparel design experience in sportswear or casual sports lifestyle, within a performance category.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics and new industry technologies and techniques.
  • Strong 3D software skills, ideally VStitcher.
  • A strong eye for colour, concepts and design.
  • Strong Macintosh skills and working knowledge of the Adobe creative suite, especially Illustrator.
  • Ability to carry a project through research, design, tech packs, fittings and final prototypes.
  • An interest in football and its culture.
  • Very good written and spoken English for communication and presentations.
  • Flexible, well organised and a good team player.
  • A university degree in design or a related field.
  • Submit both your portfolio and your CV.
