Design Program Manager – Touch Display Control Products

The company offers engineering, supply chain and manufacturing services to large global brands, with 60 years in business and over 100 sites worldwide.

The team builds touch-display products and the embedded systems that run them, and this role sits inside that work.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, multi-region design programs for touch-display products and their embedded electronics.
• Coordinate engineers and stakeholders across time zones and keep the programs moving toward manufacturing.
• Track program schedules, budgets, NRE spend, resource plans and forecasts, and handle changes to scope.
• Communicate with customers and set realistic expectations about progress and risks.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with display technology, including module structure, backlights, LCD and OLED panels, touch interfaces, display electronics, optical performance and system integration.
• Ability to take a product from concept through to manufacturing while managing the cross-functional work.
• Proven record of running product development through phase gates, covering concept, design, validation, industrialization and production.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing and test steps such as SMT, ICT, FVT and HLA.
• Solid grasp of supply chain basics, including BOM structure, material categories, sourcing, supplier management and material cost control.
• Experience writing engineering and design proposals that cover scope, schedule, milestones, critical path, dependencies, deliverables, assumptions, risks, RACI roles, resourcing, labor and non-labor NRE, compliance and certification, manufacturing cost and product cost breakdowns.
• Experience managing project budgets, NRE, resource plans, forecasts, financial performance and change control.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to align stakeholders and coordinate distributed teams worldwide.
• Engineering background strong enough to understand technical problems, lead cross-functional technical discussions and push teams to timely decisions.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Fifteen or more years of work experience, a large share of it in product design.
• Preferred: fluency in both English and Chinese.
• Preferred: PMP certification.
• Preferred: experience working in Agile or Scrum teams.
• An equivalent mix of education, experience and training may be considered in place of the degree.

This role is on-site at the St. Petersburg, Florida, Gandy site.
