Description

The company wants data products that support reporting, analytics and everyday business decisions.

This role links business stakeholders with technical teams so that data products are designed with care, documented well and built around real business problems.

You will work across the full lifecycle, from discovery and requirements through testing, documentation and continuous improvement.

The team is collaborative and entrepreneurial, and people pitch in to get work done.

You will work with Reporting, Data Governance and Data Product leads, business stakeholders, analysts and data engineers, and learn from experienced colleagues about the data ecosystem and product practices.

Success means business needs are captured as actionable requirements, products are documented with clear definitions, ownership, usage guidance and quality expectations, testing catches issues early, partners stay aligned, and usage and feedback drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders to learn their goals, reporting needs, workflows and data problems.
  • Write up requirements and turn discovery findings into user stories, development tickets and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with Data Product leads, reporting teams and data engineers to pin down data needs, business rules, definitions, dependencies and expected results.
  • Write and maintain PRDs, data contracts, business definitions and usage guidance.
  • With Data Governance and engineering, document data structures, quality expectations, ownership and refresh requirements.
  • Use basic SQL and reporting tools to explore data, chase down discrepancies and check results.
  • Plan and run UAT, arrange business testers, log defects and confirm that fixes meet acceptance criteria.
  • Share requirements, designs, test results and demos with technical and business audiences, and keep partners updated on open questions, issues and progress.
  • Track product usage, performance and user feedback to find ways to make products more accurate, accessible and useful.

Requirements

  • You have a college degree.
  • You have at least two years working alongside data or analytics teams in a business, analytical, technical or product support role.
  • You have basic SQL skills for querying, filtering, joining and summarizing data.
  • You have worked with databases or reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • You can gather business requirements and turn them into clear, organized documentation.
  • You communicate well in writing and speaking, explaining data to business audiences and bringing business needs to technical teams.
  • You collaborate easily with stakeholders, analysts and data engineers.
  • You pay close attention to detail, solve problems, organize your work and follow through on open items.
  • Would help you thrive: hands-on experience in analytics, business intelligence or data engineering.
  • Would help you thrive: experience writing user stories, development tickets, acceptance criteria or product requirements documents.
  • Would help you thrive: experience supporting UAT or validating reports, datasets or data pipelines.
  • Would help you thrive: familiarity with governance concepts such as data quality, business definitions, ownership, lineage and data contracts.
  • Would help you thrive: experience with project tracking, documentation or data cataloging tools.
  • Would help you thrive: curiosity about how data products are designed, built, governed and used to solve business problems.
  • Would help you thrive: comfort using AI tools for discovery, requirements, design, prototyping and documentation, checking outputs for accuracy and using data responsibly.
  • Would help you thrive: experience designing or building AI agent workflows and automations that streamline tasks, connect tools or data sources and support business processes.
  • Would help you thrive: a proactive mindset, strong relationship-building skills and the ability to handle open questions and changing requirements.
