Data Analytics Associate, CIB Business Management

Description

The team sits within the CIB analytics group at TD Securities, which the company describes as offering financial advice, capital raising, liquidity, transaction banking and risk management to corporate and institutional clients.

You will use analysis, business intelligence, data science, automation and AI to tackle the division's priorities.

The aim is to improve results in areas such as cross-sell, client coverage, RAROC, coverage capacity, revenue and profitability, pipeline results and operating effectiveness.

The role calls for analytical and technical skill, sound business judgment, and the ability to tell senior leaders a clear story and build lasting working relationships.

You will work directly with bankers and senior management to clarify goals, spot chances to improve performance, turn vague questions into structured work, and propose practical next steps.

Storytelling and relationships matter here: you will condense findings into short executive narratives, present them to senior stakeholders, and keep the discussion moving.

Responsibilities

• Build working knowledge of CIB products, clients, coverage models, performance drivers and management priorities.
• Frame business goals as analytical structures for measuring performance and finding opportunities.
• Find the main drivers, links and outliers that deserve management attention or action.
• Take analysis from problem definition and validation through to recommendations and executive presentation, handling several priorities at once.
• Prepare, transform, check and reconcile data from several sources using SQL, Python, Databricks and similar platforms.
• Build reusable logic, data models and measures that support scalable reporting.
• Create dashboards, analytics applications and proofs of concept that support decisions.
• Work with Technology and control teams to design, connect and scale AI solutions with suitable governance and validation.
• Turn complex work into clear, decision-focused insights, implications and recommendations.
• Build executive-ready decks, dashboards, visuals and commentary for senior CIB audiences.
• Present findings, handle pushback, and refine the work based on feedback.
• Challenge assumptions constructively and explain conclusions in plain business language.
• Document business logic, data sources, assumptions, calculations and validation steps.
• Help build governed datasets, reusable assets, semantic models and standard definitions.
• Work with Finance, Risk, Technology and control teams so solutions meet data, security, governance and AI risk standards.
• Keep solutions working over time through clean handoffs, mentoring and sharing good practice.

Requirements

• 3+ years in data analytics, business intelligence, data science, analytics engineering or a similar analytical role.
• Sound business judgment and a track record of turning unclear questions into actions and recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management, executive storytelling and presentation skills, including work with senior business audiences.
• Advanced Power BI skills: semantic modelling, DAX, visualization best practice and executive dashboard design.
• Hands-on work with Databricks and similar data platforms, plus strong SQL and Python for engineering, modelling and scalable analytics.
• Hands-on experience designing GenAI solutions or agentic workflows, covering orchestration, tool use, validation and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Ability to deliver practical, timely results, manage several priorities alone, coordinate across stakeholders without formal authority and explain technical ideas simply.
• Experience in banking, capital markets, corporate and investment banking, or other financial services.
• Knowledge of CIB products, clients, coverage models, transaction economics, revenue and profitability, capital allocation and RAROC.
• Experience analyzing cross-sell, client coverage, coverage capacity, pipeline performance, productivity or operating effectiveness.
• Experience with production-grade enterprise AI solutions and Power Platform tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance, lineage, access and model controls, responsible AI, Agile delivery, analytical product management or data modernization.

Base salary range: $81,600 to $115,200 CAD.

The role is eligible for a discretionary variable award based on business and individual performance.

Pay offered within the range depends on skills, experience, job knowledge, location and business needs; you are welcome to ask the recruiter about pay details.
