CMM Offline Programmer

Description

This offline CMM programming role covers the composite and metallic inspection departments of the company.

The job centres on planning and building CMM programs, and on the fixtures, documentation and reports that support them.

Responsibilities

• Write, check and maintain CMM programs so they match release schedules.
• Program offline in PolyWorks Inspector, with particular attention to Renishaw PH20/Revo heads and the Renishaw UCC server.
• Design and verify fixtures in Siemens NX and Renishaw Fixture Builder.
• Write clear documentation covering CMM program setup and operation.
• Produce CMM reports that help teams review component quality.
• Apply metrology best practice to improve productivity and measurement reliability.
• Audit and revise programs and processes to make them leaner and more consistent.
• Build automated functions into CMM programs using PolyWorks MSCL.
• Organise your workload so deliveries land on the scheduled dates.
• Take part in MPI improvement work and give practical feedback that shortens lead times and raises output.
• Keep the work area tidy and run clean shift handovers.
• Follow the company's values and behaviours, health and safety obligations, brand rules, quality standards and cost cap rules, and set a good example for the department.
• Build good working relationships with other departments and support a shared drive for teamwork and improvement.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of proven offline CMM programming experience with PolyWorks Inspector or similar CMM software.
• Preferred: hands-on expertise with Renishaw PH20/Revo heads and the Renishaw UCC server, though not essential.
• Macro programming in MSCL to build automated, efficient inspection workflows.
• Proven experience in Formula One or a low-volume production setting that moves quickly.
• A record of process improvement in manufacturing or engineering.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear documents and reports.
• Proficiency in CAD for fixture assemblies, especially Siemens NX and Renishaw Fixture Builder.
• A solid grasp of GD&T and how it applies to metrology.
• Deep knowledge of precision measurement principles and practice.
• The ability to make inspection processes more efficient and reliable.
• Use AI to improve measurement programming, inspection analysis and process optimisation, and identify where AI could be adopted more widely through automation, data insights and improvement work.
