Responsibilities

• Lead the design of secure cloud and hybrid architectures for AI workloads and enterprise systems.
• Create technology roadmaps and standards that shape long-term cloud and AI strategy.
• Make sure systems across cloud, on-premise and multi-enclave environments connect securely and work well together.
• Set best practices for automation, Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps.
• Help govern AI models and data so they are compliant and used responsibly.
• Assess new technologies and recommend options that improve performance and security.
• Guide modernization and migration of legacy environments to the cloud.
• Advise leadership on technical risks, opportunities and strategic choices.

Requirements

• Experience building advanced AI and GenAI systems that combine several models and modalities across reasoning, perception, memory and tool execution.
• Experience implementing temporal, spatial, geographic, quantitative and computer vision AI.
• Familiarity with named entity recognition, contextual entity extraction and entity resolution.
• Knowledge of multi-step retrieval and structured output generation.
• Ability to parse complex data and ingest it efficiently, with deep source citations and traceable analytic outputs.
• Experience with data architecture and ETL, including vector, graph and multi-database orchestration.
• Skill in creating, scheduling and optimizing automated ETL pipelines.
• Knowledge of attribute-based access control at the data layer, plus provenance and end-to-end lineage tracking.
• Experience ingesting and normalizing structured and unstructured data against a schema.
• Experience building in-house custom applications.
• Experience with air-gapped, hybrid and on-premise operating environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and distributed systems.
• Experience with locally hosted GPU servers, hyperconverged nodes and multitenant Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS).
• Experience in UI, backend and middleware engineering using TypeScript, React, Python, FastAPI, LanceDB, lance graph, PostgreSQL, Temporal.io, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience integrating reasoning components, retrieval systems, databases and AI or GenAI services, and using modern languages and frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree.
• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, engineering or technical leadership.
• Deep expertise with major cloud platforms and hybrid or on-premise environments.
• Strong understanding of secure architecture frameworks, including zero trust.
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads and high-performance compute environments.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps toolsets.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to leadership.
• Experience in classified or multi-enclave environments.
• Cloud architecture certifications, such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Background in AI/ML platforms, data engineering or HPC systems.
• Advanced degree in a related technical field.
• Active Top Secret clearance or higher is required.

Conditions

Pay ranges apply in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and the District of Columbia, where the base pay range is $106,300 - $221,100 USD.

Pay depends on location, role, skill set and experience.
