The role supports Servigistics products and their underlying infrastructure in a private cloud. The main focus is keeping hosted environments maintained, secure, stable and ready to operate, with particular emphasis on OS patching, maintenance planning, patch execution, validation and compliance.

You will run recurring maintenance across supported environments and work with R&D, Networking, DBA, Systems and other support teams to schedule activities and keep operational impact low.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and carry out OS patching and recurring infrastructure maintenance across Servigistics environments.
• Build and keep up to date patching schedules and maintenance plans, timed around the system downtime that is available.
• Check systems before scheduled work for prerequisites, dependencies, exceptions and risks that could affect patching.
• Coordinate maintenance with Systems, Networking, DBA, R&D and Application Support.
• Validate systems before and after maintenance to confirm the application is available, systems are healthy and planned work finished.
• Track patch status and flag systems that failed, were deferred or need further remediation.
• Maintain and configure supporting components such as Apache, Java, Tomcat and other approved third-party software.
• Troubleshoot basic application and infrastructure issues that come up during or after scheduled maintenance.

Requirements

• Solid working knowledge of Linux and Linux system administration.
• Experience with OS patching, system maintenance and lifecycle management.
• Understanding of patch planning, maintenance windows, change coordination and post-maintenance validation.
• Experience maintaining and configuring Apache, Java and Tomcat.
• Familiarity with cloud computing, including AWS and Azure.
• Basic Oracle database knowledge, including select, insert, delete and join commands.
• Familiarity with ETL tools such as Pentaho PDI.
• Strong organization and planning skills, with the ability to coordinate maintenance across many systems and environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across functions.
• Preferred: 2+ years supporting Linux systems, cloud-hosted environments, infrastructure operations or system maintenance.
• Preferred: experience coordinating or performing OS patching and scheduled maintenance.
• Preferred: understanding of cloud technologies.
• Preferred: Linux command-line experience.
• Preferred: basic Oracle skills.
• Preferred: experience with maintenance schedules, change processes or production maintenance windows.
• Preferred: experience documenting technical procedures and maintenance activities.
• Preferred: basic troubleshooting skills for finding issues during maintenance and escalating them.
• Preferred: exposure to automation or scripting for repetitive administration and maintenance tasks.
• Associate degree in IT, Computer Science or Programming plus 2 years of technical work experience, or a bachelor's degree in one of those fields.
• You must be a US citizen.
• You must hold or be able to obtain a Security-level clearance.

Conditions

Pay is expected to fall between $65,000 and $75,000 per year. Final pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience and location.
