Description

The company is a global software company that builds a cloud platform for electronics product development. It is headquartered in San Diego, California, and is part of a larger group.

The team needs a hands-on Cloud DevOps Engineer to build and run its AWS environment, improve how software is deployed, and automate everyday work. The focus is AWS, Terraform, K8s and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain AWS infrastructure for production and non-production environments.
  • Write and own Infrastructure as Code in Terraform.
  • Run EKS-based K8s workloads, handling deployments, scaling, upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Take a turn on the on-call rotation and push operational fixes that follow incidents.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and release automation on Jenkins or GitLab CI.
  • Build automation and tooling in Python, Go, Bash or PowerShell to cut manual work.
  • Strengthen monitoring and alerting across AWS and K8s using Prometheus and New Relic.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong AWS experience across core services such as EC2, EKS, ECS, RDS, S3, Route 53 and VPC networking.
  • Strong Terraform experience.
  • Strong grasp of K8s fundamentals: networking, workloads, ingress, scaling and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or an equivalent.
  • Solid Linux skills. Windows experience counts as a plus.
  • Ability to write and maintain automation scripts or tools in Python, Go, Bash or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of the SDLC and microservices deployment patterns.
  • Experience with AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python) or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Lambda, OpenSearch, Redis, AMQ, MySQL and FSx.
  • Strong AWS networking and security skills, including Transit Gateway, VPC peering, routing, security groups and NACLs.
  • Working knowledge of AD, DNS and domain fundamentals.

Conditions

Taking part in an on-call rotation is part of the role.

Benefits

  • A competitive benefits package alongside salary. Details are shared during the hiring process.
