Description

The company is a collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents work together. It brings knowledge, projects, meetings and AI tools into one place. Millions of individuals, small teams and large companies use it to run their work.

The team builds the company's own work tools first. The goal is to set a standard for how people work together in the AI era, from keeping a business's system of record to building AI agents and automating routine work.

This is a Business Systems Engineer role in San Francisco or New York City. Your job is to own the systems that turn a signed deal into a correct invoice and accurate revenue figures. You will design how data and money move between Sales, Finance, Billing Ops and Data teams, build the automation that keeps them aligned, and use AI to cut manual work and send timely signals to reps and operators. You will work closely with Sales, Deal Desk, Billing Ops, Revenue Accounting and Data Engineering. Salesforce is one part of the stack, not the whole job.

The office schedule is Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (Anchor Days). The team does its best thinking and building together in person, and you are expected to work alongside it on those days.

Responsibilities

  • Build a reliable go-to-market and quote-to-cash foundation across CRM, CPQ, billing, finance systems, marketing automation, the data warehouse and the integrations between them.
  • Within 90 days, map the key data flows between go-to-market systems, finance systems and the warehouse, then ship one improvement to a high-value integration or workflow.
  • Within 90 days, build AI-powered and agent-based workflows that reduce manual work for reps, Deal Desk and Billing Ops and improve the signals available to reps and operators.
  • Within your first year, automate billing-critical workflows such as upgrades, prorated refunds, early renewals, true-ups and credit deferment, with audit trails Finance can rely on.
  • Within your first year, improve data integrity and reporting through clear data models, deduplication, validation rules, reconciliation and monitoring. This includes the ARR, pipeline, dashboard and forecasting infrastructure.
  • Raise the standard for how the team ships and runs systems: access controls, change management, release practices, documentation, tool choices, reusable tests, runbooks, code review and AI-assisted development.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business systems engineering, GTM engineering, revenue operations, or a technical sales or marketing operations role. You can own problems from start to finish and work across functions.
  • Strong SQL and experience with a data warehouse such as Snowflake or BigQuery. You build for clean, traceable data and know how to protect its integrity across systems.
  • Experience building integrations using APIs, webhooks, event-driven services, reverse ETL, or automation platforms such as Zapier, Workato or Tray.io. Python or JavaScript scripting, or serverless integrations, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of finance systems and concepts such as quote-to-cash, billing, invoicing and revenue recognition, and the ability to work well with Finance and Billing Ops. Experience with an ERP such as NetSuite is a plus.
  • Hands-on Salesforce development with Apex, triggers, Lightning Web Components and Salesforce automation is a plus. You follow the team's practices: source control, pull requests, code review, automated testing and the deployment pipeline.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud or a similar CPQ tool is a plus. This includes product and pricing data models, price books, bundles and approval rules.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI, shown by using it in daily work through AI-assisted development, agents or workflow automation is required. Salesforce administration experience, covering objects, flows, permissions and integrations, is a plus but not required.

Conditions

The role is based in San Francisco or New York City, with in-office work on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The estimated base salary is $167,000 - $228,000 per year for roles based in San Francisco and NYC. Final pay depends on location, the scope and complexity of the role, and your experience and expertise, and may fall outside this range.

AI fluency is not required for every role. This role is marked as an onsite position.

Benefits

  • The company offers highly competitive cash compensation, equity and benefits.
