Description

The company is a publicly traded medical technology firm focused on diagnosing and managing coronary artery disease, which ranks first among causes of death worldwide.

Its AI-driven, non-invasive cardiac test builds a color-coded 3D model of a patient's coronary arteries and shows how blockages affect blood flow to the heart. Its tools identify stenoses, assess coronary blood flow and quantify plaque across the CCTA pathway.

The technology is cleared in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Canada, is supported by medical societies worldwide and has been used for more than 750,000 patients.

The team is building a new AWS foundation with new accounts, new Kubernetes clusters and supporting cloud services. Current applications on Lambda, Fargate, RDS and API Gateway, defined in AWS CDK, are being moved onto it.

You will join the Infrastructure Platform team, which covers cloud foundations, site reliability engineering and developer experience. The first project is the Kubernetes migration, and the role widens over time.

You will help shape a platform still under construction, starting with a well-defined, high-impact migration. The work supports products used in patient care, where reliability, security and traceable change management matter.

Responsibilities

  • Help define migration patterns and reference implementations for moving CDK-based serverless applications to EKS, keeping cross-account access working during the move.
  • Convert existing CDK stacks into Terraform and Terragrunt, Helm charts, service templates and developer portal integrations.
  • Design automated, scalable ways to run event-driven, serverless-style workloads on Kubernetes, possibly using KEDA or similar cloud-native tools.
  • Plan data-tier and API cutovers so downtime and risk stay low.
  • Work with application teams to understand their workloads, set the order of their moves, and provide tooling and documentation so they can migrate largely on their own.
  • Benchmark migrated services, tune resource requests and limits, and confirm that observability and SLOs match or beat prior levels.
  • Build and maintain cloud foundations as code: account structure, networking, IAM and shared services.
  • Help mature SRE practice: SLOs, alerting, incident response, capacity and cost management, and an on-call rotation as the team grows.
  • Improve developer experience through Harness pipelines, golden paths and the Cortex service catalog, treating internal engineers as customers.
  • Write standards, guardrails and runbooks that other teams can follow without needing help from the platform team.
  • Support Linux and Windows systems where the platform requires them, favoring automation over manual work.

Requirements

  • Several years in platform, infrastructure, SRE or DevOps engineering, including at least one production migration to a new platform or architecture. Fargate or ECS to Kubernetes is the closest match; serverless to containers is also relevant.
  • Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes on AWS (EKS), including networking, security, scaling and day-two operations.
  • Solid AWS experience with Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, VPC networking and IAM.
  • Production experience with Terraform and comfort with Helm.
  • Scripting and automation in Bash, Python or Go.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and containers.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and a track record of influencing technical decisions across teams.
  • Experience with AWS CDK, including reading and refactoring existing stacks.
  • Experience with KEDA or other event-driven scaling on Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Terragrunt, Harness, or an internal developer portal such as Cortex or Backstage.
  • Windows or Linux systems administration.
  • Experience in a regulated field such as healthcare, finance or medical devices, including change control and audit evidence.
  • Experience with monorepos.
  • Prior ownership of a multi-quarter technical initiative.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role.

The estimated base salary range is $180,000 to $215,000.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on any basis protected by federal, state or local law.
