Description

The company makes an evaluation platform for conversational AI. Enterprise customers use it to simulate their voice agents before launch, monitor them in production, and have people review the results.

This role covers the infrastructure that runs all of this: distributed pipelines, queues and orchestration that score tens of thousands of conversations daily, along with the data layer and cost controls beneath them.

You would work on the systems enterprise customers route their voice agents through, and you would join while those systems are still being designed.

Responsibilities

  • Create the distributed execution engine: workers, queues and orchestration that handle simulated conversations in the tens of thousands per day and return scores.
  • Design and run the data layer, covering the stores for conversations, audio and judge outputs, and the pipelines that move data between stages.
  • Weigh cost against performance. Each model call and each stored byte costs money, so keep unit economics healthy as volume grows.
  • Set up and maintain the environments where LoRA training jobs run, forming a core part of the infrastructure behind the ML work.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years building production systems, with strong hands-on Python and AWS experience.
  • Experience with managed services and Terraform, which the team relies on heavily, plus the judgment to recognise when a managed service is no longer the right choice.
  • You have run a system under heavy load and know how to respond when a queue falls behind in the middle of the night.
  • You can review a partly built system and decide what to complete, what to repair, what to build next, and where a stopgap is enough.
  • You work independently. The team is small, so no one hands you a task list; you identify what matters most and drive it forward.
  • You bring ambition and warmth. As an early engineering hire, you will shape the architecture and the standards the rest of the team follows.
  • Experience: 3+ years.
  • Visa: US citizen or visa holder only.
