Description

This is a hybrid role that requires you to work from an office about 2 days per week on average.

The company is a global edge-to-cloud business that helps clients connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications, from the edge to the cloud.

The Cloud Developer builds mission-critical applications from the ground up and looks for new ways to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to customer problems.

You will use technical reasoning to break down complex data, then design, prototype and implement cloud-based solutions.

You will work with project managers and development partners to deliver, deploy, operate, monitor and support cloud engagements efficiently.

The role supports the development of new service offerings across the company's Cloud Services portfolio, which spans multiple systems, platforms and applications.

At this level you apply deep subject matter knowledge to common and sometimes complex problems, suggest alternatives when needed, and may lead a project and guide less senior staff. You use your own judgment and consult others to choose the best approach.

Responsibilities

  • Review feature specifications and decide what coding, testing and integration work is needed.
  • Design and build moderate to complex cloud application modules that meet the specifications and follow security policies.
  • Find, debug and fix code problems and integration issues within the application architecture.
  • Write and run full test plans that check performance, scale, usability and security.
  • Deploy cloud systems and application code through CI/CD pipelines to automate management, scaling and deployment.
  • Help bring new technologies into projects.
  • Analyze science, engineering, business and other data problems, and build solutions for complex application, system administration or network issues.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a closely related quantitative field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Typically 4-7 years of experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Golang and Groovy.
  • A good grasp of distributed systems, event-driven programming, and designing for scale and performance.
  • Experience with cloud-native applications, developer tools, managed services and next-generation databases.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Good written and verbal communication, and the ability to work in an agile way as conditions change.
