Description

The role is onsite, with the expectation that you will mainly work from an office of an HPE partner or customer.

The company is a global edge-to-cloud business that helps organisations connect, protect, analyse and act on their data and applications, from edge to cloud.

The position sits in the Cloud Infrastructure and Enterprise Solutions area, within the Benelux Consulting and Professional Services organisation, in the Services job family at job level TCP05.

You will be a trusted advisor to customers, helping them make complex technology decisions and designing secure, scalable and future-proof solutions. You will work with customers, delivery teams, project managers and other architects, turning business challenges into practical cloud, infrastructure, storage and data protection solutions in large enterprise settings.

You will engage with stakeholders from technical specialists up to executive leadership, uncover real customer needs, question assumptions and turn requirements into workable technology.

Responsibilities

  • Run customer workshops and discovery sessions to learn about business challenges, requirements and strategic goals.
  • Turn customer needs into practical, scalable cloud, infrastructure, storage and data protection solutions.
  • Design end-to-end architectures that meet business, security, operational and financial requirements.
  • Serve as technical lead on complex projects and transformation programmes.
  • Build technology roadmaps and long-term IT strategies for enterprise customers.
  • Govern the architecture across the full solution lifecycle.
  • Work with delivery teams to make sure the designed solutions are implemented successfully.
  • Give technical support to account and sales teams during customer engagements.
  • Develop working relationships with stakeholders from technical teams to executive leadership.
  • Spot risks, dependencies and opportunities in complex IT environments.
  • Advise customers on modernisation, cloud adoption, security, resiliency, backup and disaster recovery.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years in IT architecture, enterprise infrastructure, cloud architecture or solution architecture.
  • A proven record of designing and delivering solutions in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, hybrid cloud architectures and infrastructure modernisation.
  • Experience with enterprise storage, file services, backup and recovery solutions.
  • Experience with medium-sized to large organisations.
  • Experience gathering requirements, running workshops and turning business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience working in large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in one or more of: Microsoft Azure, AWS, hybrid cloud solutions, enterprise infrastructure, backup and recovery, Cohesity (strongly preferred), storage and file services, data protection, business continuity and disaster recovery, security and compliance, infrastructure transformation and migration.
  • You combine technical depth with consulting skills: you ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, explain complex concepts in business terms, influence decisions at technical and executive levels, and earn trust as an adviser.
  • You balance strategic thinking with practical delivery and stay focused on the best outcome for the customer when stakeholders disagree or priorities compete.
  • Preferred: a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field.
  • Preferred: an understanding of architectural concepts.
  • Preferred: experience with enterprise transformation and modernisation programmes.
  • Preferred: experience engaging executive stakeholders and senior leadership teams.

Conditions

Onsite work, primarily from an HPE partner or customer office.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and decides on qualifications, merit and business need.

HPE will comply with laws on employer use of arrest and conviction records, including those requiring consideration of qualified applicants with criminal histories.

Benefits

  • Health and wellbeing benefits covering physical, financial and emotional needs.
  • Career development programmes, including routes to become a knowledge expert or to move into another division.
