Description

The role drives change management plans and activities from start to finish, covering implementation and sustainment, so the business gets the results it expects.

You engage leaders, stakeholders and other affected groups so staff understand the change and what it means for customers and employees.

You weigh the business dimensions affected by change (products, people, processes and channels) and the associated risks, then interpret, assess and mitigate them.

The team is part of a bank; the focus is mainly on one business group, though the scope may sometimes be enterprise-wide.

Work is largely independent and often involves non-routine situations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the assigned business or group.
  • Influence and negotiate to meet business objectives.
  • Analyze issues and their business implications, then recommend and implement solutions.
  • Help develop strategic plans and identify emerging issues and trends to support decisions.
  • Lead change strategy planning, combining subject matter expertise with knowledge of the organization.
  • Assess the scope of a change, including its impact on people, processes, finances, technology and risk.
  • Break down strategic problems and analyze data to produce insights and recommendations.
  • Advise on implementing change and assess its complexity and impact to build a program that meets the objectives.
  • Apply change management methodology and general management skills to plan, organize and run changes of varying sizes.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to provide business context and keep them aligned through design, build and rollout.
  • Design change solutions based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Create change strategies that equip leaders to promote and carry out the change and motivate stakeholders to adopt it.
  • Plan and run communications that build awareness and understanding: analyze audiences, write key messages, and choose the channel, frequency and sender.
  • Find resistance to change and build plans using communications and training to overcome it and sustain the change.
  • Track adoption, resolve issues, put corrective actions in place and recognize successes.
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
  • Use judgment to identify, diagnose and solve problems within set rules.
  • Take on other accountabilities as needed.
  • Take measured risks and protect the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework, the risk culture and the approved risk appetite, making risk-informed decisions that follow policies, laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Typically 5 to 7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of business analysis and of project delivery practices and standards across the project lifecycle.
  • Deep technical knowledge built through extensive education and business experience.
  • In-depth verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth influencing skills.
  • In-depth ability to make decisions based on data.
