Description

The company is a global digital infrastructure provider focused on shortening the path to connectivity.

This senior role runs the combined portfolio of operational technology and engineering initiatives covering controls, central monitoring, OT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and automation.

The aim is to sequence, govern, fund and hand over these programs to operations as one connected roadmap rather than as separate projects.

You combine structured portfolio and program management with hands-on industrial controls and OT knowledge, including how control systems connect across critical facilities.

Engineering keeps ownership of design, architecture and engineering acceptance. You own portfolio governance, integration and the move to operations, and you advise leadership on sequencing, funding and priorities.

Your partners include engineering, operations, cybersecurity, IT, network, architecture, finance, procurement, vendors, system integrators and regional groups within Global Operations Excellence.

Key work includes GMCC and central SCADA, aimed at improving the reliability, security and supportability of the company's critical facilities.

This is a backfill role, filling an existing vacancy in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Keep one current picture of every OT and engineering initiative: scope, funding, dependencies, risk and expected value.
  • Plan and lead quarterly and annual cycles, including roadmaps and investment cases, working with Finance on forecasts and variance reports.
  • Take in new work, score it, and rank it against strategy, architecture standards and available capacity.
  • Own end-to-end delivery for programs spanning several teams, including integrated plans, critical paths and phased rollouts to site teams across regions.
  • Set stage gates and readiness criteria for design, security review, pilot and production.
  • Make sure programs follow approved architecture and engineering standards, working with architecture and review boards.
  • Run governance through steering committees, status cadences, RAID logs and decision records.
  • Turn strategy, competing priorities and incomplete information into a plan the team can execute.
  • Weigh pace, cost, technical quality, cybersecurity and long-term supportability when making program decisions.
  • Convert technical detail into executive-level narratives, dashboards and decision requests.
  • Manage vendor and integrator work, including SOWs, deliverables and performance.
  • Measure benefits and report whether delivered programs reached their intended outcomes.

Requirements

  • You have 10+ years in program or portfolio management, with 5+ years leading complex technical programs.
  • You have proven hands-on experience with industrial controls and OT in data centre or critical facility settings.
  • You bring solid controls and OT skills to engage engineers as a credible peer, challenge plans and spot material technical dependencies, while respecting engineering as the technical authority.
  • You know BMS, power monitoring, SCADA, telemetry and OT/IT network segmentation, and how they connect, well enough to challenge estimates, technical plans and spot risk.
  • You have managed concurrent programs with shared dependencies and limited resources.
  • You bring strong financial skills, including budget ownership and building business cases.
  • You have a record of influencing senior leaders and driving decisions without direct authority.
  • You have worked with both stage-gate and agile delivery approaches.
  • You facilitate well, negotiate, write clearly and present to executives, and influence across a global, matrixed environment without direct authority.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, technology or a related field is desired.
  • Nice to have: PMP or PMI certification, P.Eng., Lean or Agile certification, ITIL Foundation or ServiceNow experience.
