Description

The company runs an AI platform for hospitality commercial strategy, built on the largest hotel data network in the sector and turning it into real-time intelligence.

It has raised $370M in Series C funding and has over $100M in ARR.

The company has 850+ staff across 35 countries and serves tens of thousands of hotels in 185 countries, including all of the top 15 global chains and thousands of independent hotels.

You would join the Crawler Engineering team, which supplies customers with fresh rate, ranking and supply data gathered from the web.

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve high-performance data acquisition backend systems, mostly in Rust, that collect billions of data points from the web.
  • Handle close to 200 million requests a day, spread across 200+ data sources, with reliability and efficiency in mind.
  • Work on the in-house proxy layer and browser tooling, including request routing, connection handling and protocol-level behaviour.
  • Diagnose hard crawler problems at the network level, try alternative approaches when a source blocks you, and turn what works into robust, reusable systems.
  • Create clear interfaces and guardrails so other teams and AI agents can use your systems safely.
  • Take ownership of code quality, including code written with AI assistance: tests, observability and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with crawler engineers, DevOps and Security to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
  • Help make the infrastructure agent-friendly so other teams can build on it with AI.

Requirements

  • Have hands-on experience building, deploying and running production backend services in the cloud.
  • Know a systems language such as Rust or C/C++, or be strong in another backend language with a real drive to master Rust.
  • Understand how the web works underneath: HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS and proxies.
  • Bring an R&D mindset: curiosity about browser and network internals, comfort with ambiguity, and a preference for testing a hypothesis over assuming it.
  • Have strong analytical and debugging skills, including working with packet captures, profilers and other people's source code.
  • Communicate clearly, state your opinions, welcome feedback and work well in a team.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • Tools and technologies you will use: Rust, TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana and Claude Code.
