Autoflight system Certification and Safety Engineer(m/f)

Description

The team handles certification, safety and airworthiness for the autoflight system (ATA 22) across all of the company's programmes.

You will work on the certification and airworthiness of the autoflight system for one the company programme at a time.

The role is based in Toulouse, France, and sits in the Vehicle Mission & Control job family at professional level.

It offers a chance to build deep technical knowledge of flight controls while gaining exposure to certification technical directorate and programme work.

Toulouse has an international airport and is within reach of the Mediterranean coast, the Atlantic coast and the Pyrenees.

Responsibilities

• Define the certification plan for autoflight modifications and negotiate it with the airworthiness authorities.
• Coordinate designers, test centres and pilots to issue the means of compliance.
• Act as the interface with the airworthiness authorities throughout the certification process.
• Track occurrences on in-service aircraft and, together with designers, report and escalate potential safety issues.
• Help define preventive or corrective action plans and deliver them on time.
• Lead the discussions with the airworthiness authorities at airworthiness review meetings.
• Support the safety organisation on the functional hazard analysis, system safety assessment, common mode analysis and master minimum equipment list.

Requirements

• Have at least 5 years of experience in system safety, system certification and qualification, flight controls, or autoflight system development.
• Bring experience in system architecture and integration, or in engineering.
• Communicate, coordinate and negotiate well.
• Work autonomously and motivate diverse teams.
• Speak and negotiate fluently in English and French.
• Stay alert to potential compliance risks and act with integrity.

Conditions

Permanent contract, classified G13 in France.

Based in Toulouse, France.
