Full Stack Software Developer, Mid-level

You will join the team on the Makalu contract in a full-time Engineering role.

The team builds cloud-native applications that are heavily used and critical, supporting situational awareness and collaboration.

The ideal person is strong in Java and JavaScript, follows modern development practices, and knows cloud technologies.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and a firm commitment to security in everything you do.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cloud-native applications in Java and JavaScript.
• Develop and extend situational awareness and collaboration features for mission-critical systems.
• Build and work with microservices in cloud environments.
• Take part in the full development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment.
• Work with colleagues from other functions in an Agile setup.
• Keep code quality high through testing and code review.
• Join Agile ceremonies and help drive ongoing improvement.
• Track new industry and cloud developments.

Requirements

• Required: Strong working knowledge of Java and JavaScript.
• Required: Experience developing in a Linux environment.
• Required: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or graduation from an accredited coding bootcamp.
• Required: An active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with a polygraph preferred.
• Required: 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Required: Security+ certification, or willingness to obtain it.
• Required: Experience applying software development best practices and methodologies.
• Required: A proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior developers.
• Required: Strong skills in system design and architecture.
• Desired: Experience leading development teams in Agile environments.
• Desired: A record of delivering complex, mission-critical applications.
• Desired: Experience with Kubernetes or another containerized environment.
• Desired: Knowledge of Elasticsearch.
• Desired: Familiarity with the Java Spring Boot framework.
• Desired: Understanding of microservice architecture.
• Desired: Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Desired: AWS developer experience.
• Desired: Knowledge of WebSockets.
• Desired: Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Desired: Security+ certification, or willingness to obtain it within a specified timeframe.

Conditions

Full-time position on the Makalu contract.

Up to 10% travel, local only.

Final salary depends on factors such as location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, prior relevant experience, specific skills, education, and certifications.

The proposed salary range is $90,300 - 189,600 USD.
