SME Software Developer - REMOTE

Description

The company supports national security work for a major Navy program, and the role sits close to the leadership who make key decisions. You will work across many business functions and directly support program leadership.

The role is full time and remote, with up to 10% travel within the continental US. A Secret clearance is required to start.

Responsibilities

• Carry out technical planning, system integration, and verification and validation, and weigh alternatives by cost, risk, and supportability across total systems.
• Run functional and timeline analyses, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to turn customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Assess how software assurance and software engineering planning are applied across the system life cycle and in program documentation.
• Check architecture and design against secure design principles and judge whether architectural decisions hold up.
• Review software build, release, and increment artifacts with a whole-system view to find and reduce technical risk.
• Advise on requirements development in an agile setting, architecture definition and decomposition, testing approaches, and verification coverage.

Requirements

• Required: you must be a US citizen.
• Required: a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline, plus 15+ years of agile software development experience.
• Required: experience with Agile, requirements definition, Scrum, creating, editing, and delivering contract data requirements lists, system documentation, and customer support, including Scrum practices such as point estimation, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Required: experience leading teams, delivering to clients, and running meetings in person and virtually with internal and external stakeholders.
• Desired: DoD software assurance expertise.

Conditions

Full-time, remote position with up to 10% travel within the continental US.

Salary depends on factors such as location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications. The range shown is the national average because the role can be performed in more than one location.

The proposed salary range is $114,600-$252,100.
